  • Patent number: 11669218
Abstract: Virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and/or mixed reality (MR) systems may enable one or more users to connect two or more connectable objects together. These connectable objects may be real objects from the user's environment, virtual objects, or a combination thereof. A preview system may be included as a part of the VR, AR, and/or MR systems that provide a preview of the connection between the connectable objects prior to the user(s) connecting the connectable objects. The preview may include a representation of the connectable objects in a connected state along with an indication of whether the connected state is valid or invalid. The preview system may continuously physically model the connectable objects while simultaneously displaying a preview of the connection process to the user of the VR, AR, or MR system.

  • Patent number: 11656367
Abstract: A method including operating vehicles through a medium. The vehicles are subject to advection due to movement of the medium. The vehicles are in sufficient proximity to each other that one or more conditions of the medium are about equivalent for the vehicles. The method also includes applying an incremental sequence of about equivalent thrust forces to the plurality of vehicles to generate about equivalent incremental changes in a plurality of steady-state average drag forces for the plurality of vehicles. The method also includes measuring a plurality of speed changes for the plurality of vehicles. The method also includes calculating, from the plurality of speed changes, a plurality of relative speed performance statistics for relative speed performance between pairs of vehicles, wherein calculating is performed independently of the one or more conditions of the medium.

  • Publication number: 20230154008
Abstract: A computing system automatically detects, in a sequence of video frames, a video frame region that depicts a scoreboard. The video frames of the sequence depict image elements including (i) scoreboard image elements that are unchanging across the video frames of the sequence and (ii) other image elements that change across the video frames of the sequence. Given this, the computing system (a) receives the sequence, (b) engages in an edge-detection process to detect, in the video frames of the sequence, a set of edges of the depicted image elements, (c) identifies a subset of the detected set of edges based on each edge of the subset being unchanging across the video frames of the sequence, and (d) detects, based on the edges of the identified subset, the video frame region that depicts the scoreboard.

  • Patent number: 11636908
Abstract: A memory device to calibrate voltages used to read a group of memory cells. For example, the memory device measures first signal and noise characteristics of a group of memory cells by reading the group of memory cells at first test voltages that are separated from each other by a first voltage interval. An estimate of a read level of the group of memory cells is determined based on the first signal and noise characteristics. The memory device then measures second signal and noise characteristics of the group of memory cells by reading the group of memory cells at second test voltages that are separated from each other by a second voltage interval that is smaller than the first voltage interval. An optimized read voltage for the read level is computed from the second signal and noise characteristics.
