  • Publication number: 20200059654
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing split and parallelized encoding or transcoding of audio and video. In various embodiments, a computing system might split an audio-video file that is received from a content source into a single video file and a single audio file. The computing system might encode or transcode the single audio file. Concurrently, the computing system might split the single video file into a plurality of video segments. A plurality of parallel video encoders/transcoders might concurrently encode or transcode the plurality of video segments, each video encoder/transcoder encoding or transcoding one video segment of the plurality of video segments. Subsequently, the computing system might assemble the plurality of encoded or transcoded video segments with the encoded or transcoded audio file to produce an encoded or transcoded audio-video file, which may be output to a display device(s), an audio playback device(s), or the like.

  • Patent number: 10562244
Abstract: In an example, a method for forming a composite part includes, based on a part specification, cutting layers of material in a sequence and positioning the layers to form a stack. For each layer, after positioning the layer and before cutting a next layer in the sequence, the method includes (i) scanning along a length of the layer to determine an image, (ii) determining, based on the image, at least two edges of the layer, (iii) determining, based on the edges, a measured width at locations along the length of the layer, (iv) comparing the measured width at each location to a target width at the location, (v) deciding, based on the comparison, whether to adjust the production process, and (vi) if the decision is to adjust the production process, then adjusting the production process based on the comparison. The part specification specifies the target width at each location.

  • Publication number: 20200023946
Abstract: A pylon assembly for a tiltrotor aircraft includes a rotor assembly rotatably coupled to a fixed pylon and operable to rotate between a vertical takeoff and landing orientation and a forward flight orientation. The rotor assembly includes a proprotor operable to produce a slipstream. A wing extension is rotatably disposed to the outboard end of the fixed pylon such that the rotor assembly and the wing extension are separated by at least a portion of the fixed pylon. The wing extension has a forward edge and an outboard end. A winglet is coupled to the outboard end of the wing extension and has a forward edge. The wing extension and the winglet are configured to rotate in synchrony with the rotor assembly such that the forward edges of the wing extension and the winglet remain in the slipstream of the proprotor.
