  • Patent number: 10241804
Abstract: Approaches are described for enabling a host computing device to store credentials and other security information useful for recovering the state of the host computing device in a secure store, such as a trusted platform module (TPM) on the host computing device. When recovering the host computing device in the event of a failure (e.g., power outage, network failure, etc.), the host computing device can obtain the necessary credentials from the secure store and use those credentials to boot various services, restore the state of the host and perform various other functions. In addition, the secure store (e.g., TPM) may provide boot firmware measurement and remote attestation of the host computing devices to other devices on a network, such as when the recovering host needs to communicate with the other devices on the network.

  • Publication number: 20180111492
Abstract: A parking alignment sequence for wirelessly charging an electric vehicle can include determining a location of a charging station by a processing device of a user device based on communication over a cellular network. The charging station can have a transmitter for wirelessly transmitting power to a receiver of the electric vehicle. A first user interface having directions to the charging station from a current location of the user device can be displayed. Alignment data can be wirelessly received via a communication path that is independent of the cellular network in response to the electric vehicle being located within a predetermined distance from the charging station. A second user interface having alignment instructions can be displayed for moving the electric vehicle into alignment based on the alignment data in response to the electric vehicle being located within the predetermined distance from the charging station.

  • Patent number: 9930023
Abstract: Methods and systems provide indirect and temporary access to a company's IT infrastructure and business applications. The methods/systems involve establishing an access control center (ACC) to control the access that technical support personnel may have to the company's IT infrastructure and business applications. Thin client terminals with limited functionality may then be set up in the ACC for use by the technical support personnel. The thin client terminals connect the technical support personnel to workstations outside the ACC that operate as virtual desktops. The virtual desktops in turn connect the technical support personnel to the IT infrastructure and business applications. An ACC application may be used to automatically establish the connection between the thin client terminals and the virtual desktops and the virtual desktops and the IT infrastructure and business applications.

  • Patent number: 9910923
Abstract: Techniques for context-based queryless presentation of items are described. Without receiving an explicit query, an inferred query is determined based on a first set of context signals associated with a triggering event. Items matching the inferred query are selected based on a second set of one or more context signals associated with the triggering event. One or more results items identifying the one or more matching items are caused to display. Result items may be displayed in association with an explanation that identifies context values used to select an item or one or more attributes of the item that are relevant to a user or the inferred query.

  • Publication number: 20180025395
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to a computer-implemented method and system for generating personalized recommendations for a target user based at least on stored data about the target user. The method comprises obtaining, at the server computer, data from a plurality of data sources, including entity data associated with a plurality of entities, stored in an entity database, or personal data associated with a plurality of users, stored in a user database. The personalized recommendations system then merges the entity data or personal data and maps the entity or personal data to a corresponding entity or target user, respectively. The entity or personal data is differentiated, a relevance is determined, a weight is assigned to the data and corresponding source to canonicalize the data, the respective databases are updated with the corresponding data, and then a set of personalized recommendations to the target user is generated using the updated databases.
