Abstract: A sender selection is detected at a sender computer system within a user interface of at least one suggested folder name for a composed electronic message for a recipient receiving the electronic message to select as a folder name for filing the electronic message. The at least one suggested folder name is attached to the electronic message at the sender computer system for distribution to the recipient. The electronic message is sent with the suggested filing folder name from the sender computer system to a recipient, wherein a recipient receiving the electronic message receives the at least one suggested folder name specified by the sender in the electronic message for selecting a folder for filing the electronic message in a messaging filing directory for the recipient.

Abstract: A receipt receives an electronic message from a sender, wherein said electronic message comprises at least one suggested folder name specified by the sender for the recipient to select as a folder name for filing the electronic message, wherein the at least one suggested folder name is detected by a sender computer system from a selection by the sender within a user interface of the sender computer system of the at least one suggested folder name for the electronic message and inserted into the electronic message. The electronic message is filtered to detect the at least one suggested folder name for filing the electronic message in a messaging filing directory. Responsive to the recipient selecting to file the electronic message, the electronic message is filed in at least one folder with the suggested folder name from among a plurality of folders.

Abstract: A system and method for conditioned distribution of e-mail is provided. Delivery of an e-mail message to selected second recipients (equivalently addressees) may be conditioned on a set of preselected conditions, in particular to a set of conditions associated with the delivery of the e-mail to a set of first recipients. In response to message delivery notifications corresponding to the set of first recipients, a determination is made if the delivery conditions are satisfied, and delivery to the set of second recipients made accordingly. Delivery to a set of third recipients may be likewise conditioned on another set of conditions.

Abstract: At least one filing folder is suggested for filing a particular electronic message. The suggested filing folder is graphically distinguished from the remainder of the folders in the filing system, such that selection of a folder for filing an electronic message is facilitated. A suggested folder name is attached to an electronic message before it is sent. When the electronic message is received and to be filed, the suggested folder is the one bearing the name of the suggested folder name attached to the electronic message.

Abstract: A method is presented for using a hard disk drive which contains a non-volatile random access memory (NVRAM) and a computer-usable disk medium. A usage value is maintained for the number of accesses to the computer-usable disk medium, and the usage value is stored within the NVRAM. In a system that is connected to multiple hard disk drives, the usage values for the hard disk drives can be compared to determine a youngest disk drive or a lowest amount of usage amongst the multiple hard disk drives. When data needs to be mirrored or backed-up to one of the hard disk drives, it can be copied to the youngest or least-used hard disk drive. If an operating system installation needs to be performed, the operating system files can be stored on the youngest or least-used hard disk drive.

Abstract: A mechanism to alert to a user that an address of an e-mail message may be undeliverable is provided. If a “bounced” mail notification is received, an indicator is associated with the address to which the notification pertains. When accessed by the user, in response to the indicator being set, the address is displayed in conjunction with one or more perceptive cues, such as highlighted color etc. If an indication that the delivery problems with respect to the address are resolved, such as receipt of an e-mail from the addressee or a successful delivery notification, the indicator is cleared whereby the alert is terminated.

Abstract: A multiending controller within a network detects a URL entry including at least a portion of a particular domain name. The multiending controller automatically selects multiple possible domain names for at least said portion of said particular domain name, wherein each of the multiple possible domain names includes a separate one of multiple ending types available for a domain. The multiending controller directs output of the multiple possible domain names for selection by a user.

Abstract: A domain name system (DNS) resolver within a network detects a URL entry including at least a portion of a particular domain name. The DNS resolver automatically selects multiple possible domain names for at least said portion of said particular domain name, wherein each of the multiple possible domain names includes a separate one of multiple ending types available for a domain. The multiending controller directs concurrent output of a separate selectable thumbnail representation of a separate webpage accessible from each of the selection of multiple possible domain names within an interface of a browser.

Abstract: A web browser displays a set of search results from a web search, each search result indicating a link to a web page. Responsive to selection of a first of the set of search results for exclusion from display, a subset of one or more of the set of search results that indicate related links is identified. The related links comprise links have a same domain name as the link of the first search result. The first search result and the subset of the set of search results are excluded. The search results are displayed without the excluded ones of the set of search results.

Abstract: Administration of search results including displaying by a browser a set of search results from a web search, each search result containing a link to a web page; selecting a search result for exclusion from display, thereby identifying a selected search result, including selecting for exclusion from display search results containing related links, wherein related links include links related to the link in the selected search result; and displaying the search results without the selected search result and without the search results containing related links.

Abstract: An apparatus, system and method of executing a monolithic application program successfully on a grid computing system are provided. Before the program is executed on the grid computing system, the program is executed on a computer on which the program has previously been successfully executed. During its execution, the program is monitored to collect its runtime information. The runtime information is provided to the grid computing system. With this information the grid computing system is able to successfully execute the program.

Abstract: Systems and methods for denying access to a data processing system by an intruder are provided. Input/output (I/O) on the intruder's connection may be taken over and responses mimicking a local terminal session passed back. On an attempted reconnect by the intruder, the user name and password used by the intruder to access the system may be captured. The password may then be changed on the edge system and the intruder's terminal session disconnected, or alternatively, continue to log the intruder's activity.

Abstract: A scroll-based volume controller detects a user selection to scroll through a browser window loaded with data comprising at least one display element, wherein an audio element is associated with the display element and wherein the size of the displayable data is larger than the display area of the browser window. The scroll-based volume controller, responsive to detecting the user selection to scroll through the browser window, calculates a change in position of the display element relative to the browser window. The audio element may include an audio file that is downloaded or streamed to the browser.

Abstract: A function management tool detects a user selection to drag and drop a particular selectable button from a first interface of the management tool to a second interface of an instance of a running application of multiple existing applications accessible at a computer system, wherein the management tool runs separately from the plurality of existing applications, wherein a separate pre-designated function is associated with each selectable button. Responsive to the management tool detecting the user select the dragged and dropped selectable button from within the second interface of the instance of the running application of the plurality of existing applications, the management tool controls the instance of the running application of the plurality of existing applications according to a particular pre-designated function of the dragged and dropped selectable button.

Abstract: A method, system, and program for managing on-demand email storage are provided. An email service provider allocates a predetermined amount of storage space to an intended recipient. When an email is received for the intended recipient at the email service provider, the email service provider determines whether the predetermined storage space has sufficient capacity for storage of the email. If the predetermined storage space is insufficient for storage of the email, then the email service provider allocates on-demand storage space to the intended recipient. The email service provider then stores the email in the on-demand storage space, such that the email is stored, rather than discarded, when the predetermined storage space reaches full capacity. Before allocating on-demand storage space, the email service provider may compare the email characteristics with predefined criteria set by the intended recipient for emails to be stored in on-demand storage space.

Abstract: A system, method, data structure, and computer-readable medium for processing a command entered into a command processor interface in a data processing system. In accordance with the method of the present invention, a command is entered by a user into a command processor interface input line. A command path specified by the command processor interface is utilized for searching for the entered command. The command path includes at least one local path and a grid command directive. The grid command directive may include a grid service field containing a grid service specifier, and a host name field containing a locatable name or address of a processing or grid lookup resource. The grid command directive further includes a command field containing a grid resource lookup command. The command path searching includes sequentially processing the at least one local path and the grid command directive until an execution resource associated with the command is located.

Abstract: An application for disabling the use of selected applications is provided. A server receives identification information from a user. The location of the user is determined. If the user is determined to be in a reserved location, the use of one or more applications is disabled, for the user.

Abstract: A method, system and computer program product that creates a transport dictionary, which links preferential terms and definitions to the Multipurpose Internet Mail Extension (MIME) of an outgoing electronic mail (email). Prior to sending a message, users are provided the option of transporting words or acronyms unique to the dictionary of the sender and recipient, which have been utilized in the outgoing email message. Linking dictionary preferences to the outgoing email provides clarity to terms utilized in the email message and decreases the amount of time a responder has to spend skipping, adding, or defining terms that are unique to the incoming MUA dictionary.

Abstract: The server system, communicatively connected to multiple client systems via a network, facilitates at least one web page for download to the client systems, where the web page offers multiple products for purchase. Responsive to the server system detecting a particular product selection from a particular client system, the server system downloads to the particular client system a first package offer of the client selected product and at least one second product from among at least one vendor selected product at a first price at a first discounted rate for purchase of both the client selected particular product and the at least one second product. In addition, the server system includes a selectable option for replacing the first package offer in the download of the first package offer.

Abstract: Controlling electronic withdrawals by a drawee including receiving in the drawee from a withdrawal device a withdrawal request, where the withdrawal request includes a withdrawal device identifier, a drawer identifier, and a withdrawal amount; retrieving from storage in computer memory of the drawee data representing limitations on electronic withdrawals for the drawer, wherein the limitations include a limitation on drawer location; and authorizing, by the drawee, an electronic withdrawal in dependence upon the limitations, including the limitation on drawer location. In typical embodiments, the limitations on electronic withdrawals may include limitations on withdrawal type account, withdrawal period, and maximum withdrawal amount. In typical embodiments, the limitation on drawer location may include a geographic area that includes one or more locations of withdrawal devices.
