  • Patent number: 7621443
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for enabling user-customization of an ATM display/receipt for a transaction carried out at an automated teller machine (ATM). The customer/user of the ATM creates/selects specific alerts to be outputted during subsequent ATM transactions. The alerts/notices are linked to the customer account. During subsequent access to the user's account via an ATM, the pre-selected alert/notice is displayed to the user or printed on the transaction receipt.

  • Publication number: 20090157793
Abstract: An apparatus, system and method of executing a monolithic application program successfully on a grid computing system are provided. Before the program is executed on the grid computing system, the program is executed on a computer on which the program has previously been successfully executed. During its execution, the program is monitored to collect its runtime information. The runtime information is provided to the grid computing system. With this information the grid computing system is able to successfully execute the program.

  • Patent number: 7512659
Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product for managing e-mail and real-time messaging activity between a first client and a second client. In accordance with one embodiment, the method includes the first or second client detecting an nth e-mail thread response to an original e-mail message delivered between the first client and second client, wherein n is greater than or equal to one. In response to detecting occurrence of an nth e-mail thread response, a real-time electronic messaging session is invoked between the first and second clients. In an alternate embodiment of the invention, the first client sends a real-time message to the second client during a real-time messaging session between the first and second clients. In response to a specified real-time messaging session termination event, an e-mail message containing the sent real-time message is sent to the second client.

  • Patent number: 7496847
Abstract: Displaying a computer resource through a preferred browser, including invoking a URL that identifies a computer resource; identifying, among a plurality of available browsers, a preferred browser for the resource; and displaying the resource through the preferred browser. Typical embodiments also include storing the URL in association with an identification of the preferred browser. In such embodiments, identifying a preferred browser for the resource also includes identifying the preferred browser in dependence upon the URL. Identifying the preferred browser may include requesting the resource through a default browser and receiving the resource in the default browser, the resource having meta-data comprising an identification of the preferred browser. Such embodiments also typically include storing the URL in association with the identification of the preferred browser.

  • Publication number: 20080288601
Abstract: A system and method for conditioned distribution of e-mail is provided. Delivery of an e-mail message to selected second recipients (equivalently addressees) may be conditioned on a set of preselected conditions, in particular to a set of conditions associated with the delivery of the e-mail to a set of first recipients. In response to message delivery notifications corresponding to the set of first recipients, a determination is made if the delivery conditions are satisfied, and delivery to the set of second recipients made accordingly. Delivery to a set of third recipients may be likewise conditioned on another set of conditions.

  • Publication number: 20080256208
Abstract: A method, system, and program for managing on-demand email storage are provided. An email service provider allocates a predetermined amount of storage space to an intended recipient. When an email is received for the intended recipient at the email service provider, the email service provider determines whether the predetermined storage space has sufficient capacity for storage of the email. If the predetermined storage space is insufficient for storage of the email, then the email service provider allocates on-demand storage space to the intended recipient. The email service provider then stores the email in the on-demand storage space, such that the email is stored, rather than discarded, when the predetermined storage space reaches full capacity. Before allocating on-demand storage space, the email service provider may compare the email characteristics with predefined criteria set by the intended recipient for emails to be stored in on-demand storage space.

  • Publication number: 20080235777
Abstract: Systems and methods for denying access to a data processing system by an intruder are provided. Input/output (I/O) on the intruder's connection may be taken over and responses mimicking a local terminal session passed back. On an attempted reconnect by the intruder, the user name and password used by the intruder to access the system may be captured. The password may then be changed on the edge system and the intruder's terminal session disconnected, or alternatively, continue to log the intruder's activity.

  • Publication number: 20080168141
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product that creates a transport dictionary, which links preferential terms and definitions to the Multipurpose Internet Mail Extension (MIME) of an outgoing electronic mail (email). Prior to sending a message, users are provided the option of transporting words or acronyms unique to the dictionary of the sender and recipient, which have been utilized in the outgoing email message. Linking dictionary preferences to the outgoing email provides clarity to terms utilized in the email message and decreases the amount of time a responder has to spend skipping, adding, or defining terms that are unique to the incoming MUA dictionary.

  • Publication number: 20080140777
Abstract: A method, system, and program for selective mirrored site access from a communication are provided. When composing a communication, multiple mirrored site addresses are embedded with a target site address. The sender may request to enter the mirrored site addresses or a browser supplies the mirrored site addresses. At each client system receiving the communication, selections of site addresses accessible for each intended recipient are detected. Thus, each client system, when outputting the communication, displays the selection of mirrored site address accessible to the intended recipient accessing that client system.

  • Publication number: 20080134071
Abstract: A function management tool detects a user selection to drag and drop a particular selectable button from a first interface of the management tool to a second interface of an instance of a running application of multiple existing applications accessible at a computer system, wherein the management tool runs separately from the plurality of existing applications, wherein a separate pre-designated function is associated with each selectable button. Responsive to the management tool detecting the user select the dragged and dropped selectable button from within the second interface of the instance of the running application of the plurality of existing applications, the management tool controls the instance of the running application of the plurality of existing applications according to a particular pre-designated function of the dragged and dropped selectable button.

  • Publication number: 20080126983
Abstract: An auto-complete controller monitors a window including an auto-complete box for at least one content element of the window. Responsive to detecting the user selection to fill in the auto-complete box, the auto-complete controller accesses a list of selectable entries for filling in the auto-complete box. In addition, the auto-complete controller accesses at least one rule specifying order of the list of selectable entries based on a detected content element. The auto-complete controller reorders the list of selectable entries for output in association with the auto-complete box with a most likely candidate listed first based on the rule specifying order of the list of selectable entries based on the detected content element.
