  • Patent number: 7162470
Abstract: Business directory services allow definitions of custom category hierarchies and different search methods, such as, for example, search by location, distance from an addressable location, partial or complete business name, and category. A stepwise refinement search interface provides capability for searching within search results using different search methods or categories. Thus, a user does not have to refine and re-enter search criteria in order to get a progressively selective search. This is particularly useful for mobile phone or hand-held device users who would prefer not to have to re-enter the criteria on each search but rather incrementally refine the search criteria.

  • Publication number: 20060290712
Abstract: Disclosed are a method and a system that could adaptively improve the visual quality of people with low-vision impairment, regardless of network and terminal. The low-vision impairment is described by a set of “symptoms” that is semantically defined. As the description tool of low vision impairments, it is flexible and reliable to use the proposed “symptoms” based descriptions rather than individually identified names of eye disease, because the user can describe his/her low-vision impairment by specifying associated symptoms based on his/her own experience. The inputted visual contents are adaptively transformed according to the low vision-impairment.

  • Publication number: 20060203102
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for clearly detecting color information in front of a vehicle, and an object of the present invention is to accurately and efficiently show color-related traffic information, such as traffic lights and signs, and the whole color information of objects to color-blind people including people with dichromacy or anomalous trichromacy. The present invention provides a method of compensating for the colors of video frame data provided by a front camera, which includes the steps of compensating the video frame data, which is output from the camera, for external environment, such as surrounding colors and brightness, selecting a color range preferred by a user, compensating for the colors of the color-compensated video frame data according to the user's color blindness degree that was input or will be input, and transmitting external scenes, such as the front scene of the vehicle, to the user using a user interface considering user preference.

  • Publication number: 20060006093
Abstract: A buffer apparatus for a ceiling screen includes a case and a lid pivotally coupled with one lateral end of the case for holding a screen. The lateral end has two sides forming a first action side and a second action side that correspond to each other. The first action side has a speed reducing mechanism to reduce the flipping speed of the lid and provide a buffer effect when the lid is driven by a first elastic element and unfolds. The second action side has a second elastic element compressed by the flipping lid at the initial unfolding stage during the buffering process, and expanded at a later unfolding stage of the lid to provide a returning elastic force to move and anchor the lid on a desired position. Thus the impact and vibration resulting from fast flipping of the lid may be prevented.

  • Publication number: 20050105796
Abstract: Disclosed are a method and a system that adaptively transform visual contents inputted from a network, in accordance with the visual characteristics of a terminal user. A visual characteristics descriptor that describes the information of the user visual characteristics in a predetermined format is proposed. The descriptor includes the information of the color vision deficiency type and the color vision deficiency degree. The color vision deficiency may be described in numerical degree or textual degree. The invention adaptively transforms visual contents differently in accordance with the color vision deficiency type.

  • Patent number: 6862545
Abstract: A method for calibrating a linewidth measurement tool and a system for calibrating the linewidth measurement tool each employ a correction of a series of periodic actual measurements of at least one single measurement location of a topographic feature within a linewidth standard with an exponentially weighted moving average of a series of deviations of the series of periodic actual measurements from a corresponding series of regressed data points derived from mathematical regression of the series of periodic actual measurements. Such a correction provides for a more accurate calibration of the linewidth measurement tool and a more accurate measurement of linewidths within microelectronic products while employing the calibrated linewidth measurement tool.

  • Patent number: 6721186
Abstract: An electronic signal adapter module of a flash memory card is disclosed. A seat serves for storing one or a plurality of flash memory cards of different specifications. These flash memory cards use the same storage space in the seat and are inserted into the space at different timings. At least one substrate is combined with the seat. After the flash memory card is inserted into the seat, the substrate transfers signals between the flash memory cards and a reading and writing device. The feature of the present invention is that one end of the seat for being inserted by a flash memory card has two wings. Each wing is arranged with an elastic reed. By the reeds of the two wings, the flash memory card inserted into the seat generates an elastic force so that the pins on the flash memory card have preferred contact effect with the conductive elements of the substrates.

  • Patent number: 6703282
Abstract: A method of forming an NMOS device with reduced device degradation, generated during a constant current stress, has been developed. The reduced device degradation is attributed to the use of a high temperature oxide (HTO), layer, used as an underlying component of composite insulator spacers, formed on the sides of the NMOS gate structures. After definition of an insulator capped polycide gate structure a thin, (140 to 160 Angstrom), HTO layer is deposited at a temperature between about 700 to 800° C., followed by the deposition of a silicon nitride layer. Definition of the composite insulator layer, comprised with the underlying, HTO, results in NMOS devices with reduced drain current and reduced transconductance values, when compared to counterparts fabricated with composite insulator spacers formed without the thin, HTO layer featured in this invention.
