  • Patent number: 11533694
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, apparatus, and computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for relative timing drift correction for distributed multi-user transmissions. In one aspect, a first access point (AP) may receive a first signal from a second AP. The first signal may be associated with a channel sounding procedure to be performed substantially simultaneously by the second AP and the first AP. The first AP may then receive a second signal from the second AP, and prior to a substantially simultaneous transmission by the second AP and the first AP. The second signal may include timing information relative to the first signal. The first AP may determine a start time of the substantially simultaneous transmission at the first AP based on the timing information, and may initiate the substantially simultaneous transmission according to the determined start time.

  • Patent number: 11509508
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses for wireless communication that can be used to reduce the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of data transmissions by increasing the degree of randomness with which data is scrambled for transmission over a wireless medium. In some implementations, a transmitting device may determine a set of scrambling initialization bits, and may generate a scrambling sequence based on the set of scrambling initialization bits and an 11th-order polynomial. The transmitting device may provide an indication of the set of scrambling initialization bits in a physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU). The transmitting device may scramble one or more portions of the PPDU based on the scrambling sequence. The transmitting device may transmit the PPDU over a wireless medium. In some instances, the set of scrambling initialization bits consists of 11 bits, and may be included in a Service field of the PPDU.

  • Patent number: 11496924
Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems of wireless communication in accordance with hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) techniques. Some implementations more specifically relate to aligning aggregate medium access control (MAC) protocol data unit (A-MPDU) subframes with codeword boundaries in a physical-layer service data unit (PSDU). The alignment may be performed by selectively adding padding bits to the PSDU based on the size of each A-MPDU subframe and the lengths of the codewords. In some aspects, an A-MPDU subframe may be aligned with a first codeword of the PSDU so that the first A-MPDU subframe is encoded exclusively within the first codeword. In some other aspects, an A-MPDU subframe may be aligned with two or more contiguous codewords of the PSDU so that the two or more contiguous codewords include the A-MPDU subframe and no portions of any other A-MPDU subframe.

  • Patent number: 11271617
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for null data packet (NDP) based implicit sounding and calibration for a wireless local area network (WLAN). An AP may perform a calibration procedure with one or more stations (STAs) that involves NDP transmissions. The AP may calibrate an effective downlink channel response to an effective uplink channel to compensate for transmit and receive chain differences. The AP may initiate implicit sounding by transmitting a downlink message that includes an uplink NDP announcement frame to the one or more STAs, prompting uplink multi-user (MU) NDP transmission. The AP may estimate the uplink channel based on measuring the received NDPs and mirror the estimated uplink channel for reciprocal downlink channel estimation and precoding generation. The AP may perform MU multiple input multiple output (MIMO) downlink transmission that is precoded based on the channel estimation.
