  • Patent number: 11309489
Abstract: A magnetic tunnel junction is disclosed wherein the reference layer and free layer each comprise one layer having a boron content from 25 to 50 atomic %, and an adjoining second layer with a boron content from 1 to 20 atomic %. Each boron containing layer has a thickness of 1 to 10 Angstroms and may include one or more B layers and one or more Co, Fe, CoFe, or CoFeB layers. As a result, migration of non-magnetic metals along crystalline boundaries to the tunnel barrier is prevented, and the MTJ has a low defect count of around 10 ppm while maintaining an acceptable TMR ratio following annealing to temperatures of about 400° C. The boron containing layers are selected from CoB, FeB, CoFeB and alloys thereof including CoFeNiB.

  • Publication number: 20220035709
Abstract: Retention of events of an ordered event stream is disclosed. Expiration of events stored in a segment of an ordered event stream (OES) can be desirable. New events are added to a head of an OES segment, and pruning events from a tail of the OES segment can be valuable. Processing applications can register a processing scheme for a segment, e.g., at-least-once processing, exact1y-once processing, etc., and can generate checkpoints indicating a degree of advancement in processing events of the segment. The ordered event stream can determine a cut point indicative of a progress point, that before which, events of an OES can be marked as ready for expiration. However, events that are marked for expiration can be retained to allow processing based on a checkpoint, e.g., expiration of the event can be refused until there is an assurance the event was read by the processing application.

  • Publication number: 20210398808
Abstract: Printable inks based on a 2D semiconductor, such as MoS2, and its applications in fully inkjet-printed optoelectronic devices are disclosed. Specifically, percolating films of MoS2 nanosheets with superlative electrical conductivity (10-2 s m-1) are achieved by tailoring the ink formulation and curing conditions. Based on an ethyl cellulose dispersant, the MoS2 nanosheet ink also offers exceptional viscosity tunability, colloidal stability, and printability on both rigid and flexible substrates. Two distinct classes of photodetectors are fabricated based on the substrate and post-print curing method. While thermal annealing of printed devices on rigid glass substrates leads to a fast photoresponse of 150 ?s, photonically annealed devices on flexible polyimide substrates possess high photoresponsivity exceeding 50 mA/W.

  • Patent number: 11188404
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of data concurrent recovery for a distributed storage system, that is, a method for synchronous repair of multiple failed nodes with a minimum recovery bandwidth when a node in a distributed storage system fails. First an assistant node is selected to get helper data sub-block, then the repair matrix related to the data block stored in the node to be repaired is constructed, and finally the lost data block is reconstructed by multiplying the repair matrix and the helper data helper data sub-block; the missing data block is reconstructed by decoding, wherein the node to be recovered includes all failed systematical nodes, or all or partly failed parity nodes. The method is applicable to concurrently recover multiple failed nodes at minimal recovery bandwidth, and the nodes to be recovered are selected according to the demand to reduce the recovery bandwidth as much as possible.

  • Publication number: 20210364650
Abstract: A method for estimating the pressure measurement bias of a barometric sensor in a wireless terminal. A location engine using the method generates an enhanced estimate of the measurement bias. The location engine generates the enhanced estimate based in part on Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)-based estimates of the elevation of the wireless terminal, which the terminal generates as it concurrently makes barometric pressure measurements. Each GNSS-based estimate of elevation is often generated from noisy measurements and has an associated uncertainty. The location engine accounts for the uncertainty in the GNSS estimates of elevation by applying an optimal estimation technique, such as Kalman filtering, on the biased pressure measurements and the GNSS-based estimates.

  • Publication number: 20210364380
Abstract: A method for estimating the pressure measurement bias of a barometric sensor in a wireless terminal. A location engine using the method generates an enhanced estimate of the measurement bias. The location engine generates the enhanced estimate based in part on relatively coarse estimates of the elevation of the wireless terminal. The coarse estimates are used to generate instantaneous estimates of measurement bias and bias uncertainty. As needed, the location engine adjusts the instantaneous estimate of bias uncertainty, in order to reflect an instantaneous estimate of measurement bias that is recognized as being in error. The adjustment is based on what is expected as a probable measurement bias value for the particular wireless terminal. Once the location engine generates the enhanced estimate of measurement bias, it can generate improved estimates of elevation of the wireless terminal.

  • Publication number: 20210364653
Abstract: A method for estimating the pressure measurement bias of a barometric sensor in a wireless terminal. A location engine using the method generates an enhanced estimate of the measurement bias. The location engine generates the enhanced estimate based in part on relatively coarse estimates of the elevation of the wireless terminal. Each coarse estimate of elevation is often generated from noisy measurements, such as measurements of signals transmitted by Global Positioning System (GPS) satellites, and has an associated uncertainty. The location engine accounts for the uncertainty in these estimates of elevation by applying an optimal estimation technique, such as Kalman filtering, and by compensating for environment-related effects. Compensating includes filtering across a plurality of lateral locations and imposing a lower bound of bias uncertainty at the lateral locations.
