Abstract: A sensing method is used for a capacitive sensing device, wherein the capacitive sensing device has a plurality of capacitive sensing components, each of which is charged or discharged by a charging component respectively. The sensing method comprises the steps of: a first sampling step of sampling at least one of charging or discharging time of a capacitive sensing component of the plurality of capacitive sensing components to determine a first sample time for the component sampled, wherein the component sampled and at least one another component of the plurality of capacitive sensing components are charged or discharged simultaneously during the first sampling step; a first comparing step of comparing the first sample time for the component sampled with a reference time; and an outputting step of outputting a trigger signal in the event that the first sample time exceeds the reference time.

Abstract: A method for organizing individual collections of images or videos captured for the same event by different cameras into a master collection, wherein each individual collection forms a media stream in chronological order. A processor for extracting image features for each image or video of the media stream of each collection; constructing a graph based on the extracted features to link the images or videos from the two media streams; finding on the graph at least a pair of images or videos, each from one of the two media streams, that corresponds to correlated captured content; aligning the remaining images or videos in response to the aligned pair so that the all images or videos from the two media streams are aligned over a common timeline; and producing a master stream in chronological order of the event over a common timeline by merging the aligned individual.

Abstract: Novel phototherapeutic methods and compositions are described herein. Nanoparticle-assembled microcapsules as a new type of delivery vehicle for photosensitive compounds may be synthesized through a two-step assembly process. Charged polymer chains and counterions may be combined with a photosensitive compound to form photosensitive aggregates, and then nanoparticles may be combined with the aggregates to form the microcapsules. The shell may be composed of nanoparticles and/or polymer, and the core interior may contain the photosensitive compound. Formation occurs rapidly (on the order of seconds) and the conditions are very mild (at room temperature, in aqueous solution, and at neutral pH). The microcapsule synthesis is highly suitable as an encapsulation method, particularly for a charged photosensitive molecule like ICG.

Abstract: A method for identifying a set of key frames from a video sequence including a time sequence of video frames, comprising: extracting a feature vector for each video frame in a set of video frames selected from the video sequence; defining a set of basis functions that can be used to represent the extracted feature vectors, wherein each basis function is associated with a different video frame in the set of video frames; representing the feature vectors for each video frame in the set of video frames as a sparse combination of the basis functions associated with the other video frames; and analyzing the sparse combinations of the basis functions for the set of video frames to select the set of key frames.

Abstract: A BIOS architecture adapted in a computer system is provided. The BIOS architecture includes at least one BIOS, a programmable chip module, a baseboard management controller (BMC), a south bridge chip and a network interface controller (NIC). The NIC is connected to the south bridge chip and the BMC and is to receive a remote update data to determine the destination of the remote update data. When the destination of the remote update data is the south bridge chip, the south bridge chip updates the BIOS according to the remote update data. When the destination of the remote update data is the BMC, the NIC informs the BMC to receive the remote update data, such that the BMC controls the programmable chip module to update the BIOS according to the remote update data.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a switch cabinet connection and combination apparatus, wherein upper line-in/line-out terminals of a medium-voltage switch cabinet are connected to upper contact boxes via a conductor, and lower line-in/line-out terminals thereof are connected to lower contact boxes via the conductor, and remaining gaps to be insulated are filled with a solid insulating material. Abstract: A hands-free voice communication apparatus includes a speakerphone and earpiece combo, a digital signal processing (DSP) module, and a communication module. The hands-free apparatus may be used as a speakerphone or an earpiece. The speakerphone and earpiece combo includes a loudspeaker and one or multiple microphones. The loudspeaker provides an acoustic output. Each microphone receives an acoustic input and provides an input signal. The DSP module performs digital signal processing on the input signals from the microphones and provides an output signal for the loudspeaker. The DSP module may perform digital signal processing with different sets of parameters for the speakerphone and earpiece modes. The communication module provides communication between the hands-free apparatus and a communication device, e.g., a cellular phone or a wireless PDA.
