    Abstract: The disclosure provides an image processing device and method capable of removing a halo artifact and increasing contrast enhancement effect when enhancing the contrast of an image. The image processing method includes obtaining a first blurring image by performing interpolation based on a representative value of each of blocks, having a predetermined size, of a previous frame image; obtaining a second blurring image in which boundary information is restored, through a weighted sum of a current frame image and the first blurring image; and performing contrast enhancement on the current frame image by using a difference image between the second blurring image and the current frame image.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method for simultaneous analysis of neurotransmitters and/or their metabolites. The method includes (a) separating analytes including a plurality of neurotransmitters and/or their metabolites from a sample selected from body tissues, body fluids, secretions, and excretions, (b) derivatizing the analytes with ethyl chloroformate to obtain derivatives of the plurality of neurotransmitters and/or their metabolites, (c) separating the derivatives of the plurality of neurotransmitters and/or their metabolites by liquid chromatography, and (d) subjecting the separated derivatives of the neurotransmitters or their metabolites to multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) using a mass spectrometer. According to the method, a plurality of neurotransmitters in a very small amount of sample can be simultaneously analyzed in an accurate and rapid manner based on derivatization to increase the stability and ionization efficiency of the substances.

    Abstract: Provided is a diagnostic kit for determining infection with Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in a specimen, and a method for determining the infection with MRSA using the diagnostic kit is performed by visually observing a color change after LAMP reaction, and the color change is caused by a change in a magnesium concentration and confirmed using a specific dye compound which sensitively reacts with magnesium ions. The amplification of the MRSA DNA is performed using the loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP), so that the diagnostic kit has advantages of being conveniently used anytime and anywhere and quickly diagnosing.

    Abstract: A method and system are provided for determining a pressure associated with a lumen of a patient. A wireless sensor is positioned in the lumen of the patient. The sensor has a body with a pressure sensitive surface, including a sealed cavity that holds an inductive-capacitive (LC) resonant circuit. A capacitance of the LC resonant circuit is configured to vary in response to changes in pressure in the lumen. The LC resonant circuit has a charge time related to a quality factor (Q) of the LC resonant circuit. The LC resonant circuit is energized with an energizing signal during a measurement cycle. The energizing signal has a duty cycle with an on-time that is set, in part, based on the charge time. A ring down response is received from the wireless sensor. The ring down response is utilized to calculate the pressure associated with the lumen of the patient.
