Further, the slope is formed from the end position of the clamping area to a position placed at least a predetermined distance ahead of the start position of the information area, and a gap as a non-slanted area extends between the information area and a closer end of the slope thereto.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are a high-density recording medium and a method and apparatus for controlling data playback thereof. Playback control information, such as channel bit length information, is recorded in a burst cutting area (BCA) of a high-density optical disc in a wobble type. When the high-density optical disc is reproduced, the playback control information is detected in a push-pull signal detection mode and the optimum data playback operation corresponding to the recording capacity of the optical disc is performed on the basis of the detected playback control information. Alternatively, bit error rates (BERs) are calculated while a plurality of predetermined bit detection modes are sequentially performed, one of the bit detection modes corresponding to the smallest one of the calculated BERs is selected and the data playback operation is performed in the selected bit detection mode.

A method for manufacturing the multi-layer ceramic capacitor comprising first external electrode, dielectric, internal electrode and second external electrode prints simultaneously the first external electrode; the internal electrode which is connected with the first external electrode and formed at an invaginated portion of the dielectric invaginated to allow one side to be opened at one portion; and the second external electrode which is formed integrally with the internal electrode by employing an inkjet printing. According to the present invention, a method for manufacturing the multi-layer ceramic capacitor resolves contact problems by printing integrally the internal electrode and the external electrode and reduces the manufacturing process.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing a location information-based scheduling service is disclosed. The method includes determining a meeting point or appointed place based on location information associated with a plurality of portable terminals. The method includes suggesting various routes and means to travel to the appointed place; and providing data content to a user of a first portable terminal until one or more users associated with the other portable terminals arrive at the appointed place. The appointed place can be determined based on a distance between all the portable terminals and/or their respective movement times. Users can share their expected arrival times and information regarding their current locations while traveling towards the appointed place. If a portable terminal user requests a content while waiting for other users to arrive, the surplus time can be calculated and available contents can be provided within the surplus time.

Abstract: A high-density read-only optical disc, and an optical disc apparatus and method using the same. The apparatus and method record data on a lead-in area of a high-density read-only optical disc such as a BD-ROM (Blu-ray disc ROM (Read Only Memory)) in the form of pre-pit strings associated with an HFM (High-Frequency Modulated) groove applied to a BD-RW (Blu-ray Disc Rewritable). Moreover, the apparatus and method continuously apply the same tracking servo operation to an entire area of the same high-density read-only optical disc or rewritable optical disc. Therefore, the apparatus and method can simplify an algorithm for controlling a plurality of tracking servo operations, and avoid an increased size of the optical disc apparatus.

Abstract: A method of recording disc control information in a recordable optical disc including at least one recording layer is provided. Writing speed information and per writing speed write strategy are included in disc control information. The specified disc control information can be uniformly applied to efficiently cope with the record/playback of the optical disc. In configuring disc control information within a management area of an optical disc, the method includes recording a plurality of recording speed informations and a plurality of write strategies respectively associated with corresponding recording speeds within the disc control information wherein one of the recording speed informations is a basic recoding speed information.
