Patent number: 10751676Abstract: The present invention is directed to an applicator having an agricultural product mechanical and/or pneumatic conveying system which transfers particulate material from one or more source containers to application equipment on demand, and meters the material at the application equipment. The conveying system includes a static distributor interconnecting the supply lines of the conveying system with the distribution lines connected to the individual nozzles. The static distributor includes internal structures that effectively divert the incoming particulate material evenly across the interior of the static distributor such that the particulate material is evenly distributed into each of the distribution lines. The static distributor accomplishes this without the need for any moving parts or control systems/devices.Type: GrantFiled: August 16, 2019Date of Patent: August 25, 2020Assignee: CNH Industrial Canada, Ltd.Inventors: Martin J. Roberge, Joel Denis, Rex L. Ruppert

Patent number: 10709055Abstract: A granular product delivery arrangement and method for an agricultural product applicator utilize a granular product deflector disposed below an inflow slot in a substantially horizontally extending supply line for enhancing entrainment of the granular product in an air stream passing through the supply line. The deflector has a body configured for enhancing entrainment of the granular product dropped through the slot into the flow of pressurized air passing through the supply line by directing the granular product toward an inner wall of the supply line adjacent the inflow slot, and directing the air stream away from the inflow slot in a manner that maintains a substantially unobstructed path for the airstream through a central area of the supply line and provides multiple zones within the supply line for the granular product to be entrained into the air stream.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 2018Date of Patent: July 14, 2020Assignee: CNH Industrial Canada, Ltd.Inventors: Joël Denis, Ryan C. Patent number: 10687460Abstract: The present invention is directed to an applicator having an agricultural product mechanical conveying system which transfers particulate material from one or more source containers to application equipment on demand, and meters the material at the application equipment. The conveying system includes a pneumatic agitation system operably connected to the tanks of the applicator to agitate the particulate material disposed within the tanks in order to reduce the formation of agglomerations and/or bridges of particles within the tanks. The pneumatic agitation system includes a number of nozzle connected to each tank that are in turn connected to a pressurized air source and a controller. The controller is operable to selectively cause pressurized air to flow into the tanks through the nozzles to agitate the particulate material positioned therein, thereby breaking up and agglomerations of material within the tanks.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 2017Date of Patent: June 23, 2020Assignee: CNH Industrial Canada, Ltd.Inventors: Martin J. Patent number: 10537054Abstract: The present invention is directed to an applicator having an agricultural product pneumatic conveying system which meters particulate material from one or more source containers at the application equipment and transports the particulate material to evenly distribute the particulate material from the applicator. The pneumatic conveying system employs supply lines connected between the metering devices at the source containers and delivery nozzles. The conveying system also includes a dynamic baffle system that directs the air flow towards a supply line detected as having increased resistance to the air flow in order to equalize the air flow into each of the supply lines. The baffle system accomplishes this by obstructing a portion of the air flow towards a supply line having less resistance to the air flow and concurrently re-directing the obstructed portion of the air flow into the supply line with higher air flow resistance.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 2017Date of Patent: January 21, 2020Assignee: CNH Industrial Canada, Ltd.Inventors: Martin J. Publication number: 20190387684Abstract: A crop harvesting system for continuous round baling is described that comprises a first and second bale chamber and a conveyor system in operable communication with the first and second bale chambers. The crop harvesting system can comprise a first bale chamber comprising a variable shape, defined by a first serpentine system comprising one or a plurality of endless belts in operable contact with one or a plurality of movable rollers to facilitate movement of the bale out of the first and into the second bale chamber. The second bale chamber comprises a fixed shape defined by a plurality of stationary rolls operably attached to a second set belt or belts. The crop harvesting system can be integrated into an agricultural harvester such as a baler or combine.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 26, 2018Publication date: December 26, 2019Applicant: CNH Industrial Canada, Ltd.Inventors: Joël Denis, Martin J. Patent number: 10278326Abstract: The present invention is directed to an applicator having an agricultural product pneumatic conveying system which meters particulate material from one or more source containers at the application equipment and transports the particulate material to evenly distribute the particulate material from the applicator. The pneumatic conveying system employs large diameter supply lines connected between the metering devices at the source containers and delivery nozzles, where the supply lines operate to move and mix the particulate material from the source containers to the nozzles. The particulate material is metered from the source containers into the supply lines via a number of airlocks that can be operated without allowing airflow from the large diameter supply lines to enter the source containers through the airlocks. In addition, the metering devices can b e operated in collective or independent variable manners to allow for sectional control and turning compensation.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 2017Date of Patent: May 7, 2019Assignee: CNH Industrial Canada, Ltd.Inventors: Martin J.
