Abstract: A hand-held controller (100) for a computer is disclosed. The controller is substantially U-shaped and has front and IN rear sections (110, 130) spaced apart by a link section (140). The controller fits onto the user's hand in use so that the rear section (130) lies over the back of the hand and the front section (110) lies in the palm of the hand. The front section includes a user interface, such as a keypad, touchpad or touch area (120), to receive inputs from the user's fingers. The controller may also include a gyroscope and an accelerometer to determine the orientation and movement of the controller. The controller further comprises a transmitter for transmitting data relating to the user inputs to the computer, the data causing the computer system to carry out one or more pre-assigned actions. The pre-assigned action may comprise playing or altering an audio sound, or changing the key, pitch, tone, sound quality or volume of the audio sound.

  • Patent number: 9813460
Abstract: Notifications that serve as “hints” related to activity associated with a collaborative process are propagated to an originator to alert the originator of activity on the collaborative process. A collaborative process server computer receives an indication that the originator has initiated a computer implemented collaborative process that generates collaborative content to be tracked. The collaborative process server computer is utilized to share the collaborative content associated with the collaborative process with at least one recipient. Computer implemented event(s) associated with the shared collaborative content by recipients are detected. Information associated with the collaborative process is automatically transformed in response to detected event(s) associated with the shared collaborative content, wherein a notification of the occurrence of the event(s) is propagated to the originator. The notification is generated in response to detected event(s) and is based upon the transformed information.

  • Patent number: 9786246
Abstract: An apparatus for viewing augmented reality images in a hands-free manner includes a tracker base in which various interchangeable trackers may be placed. The interchangeable trackers include an image specialized to an application framework running on a device with an image capture device in range of the image. An arm connects to and extends from the tracker base, and includes a clasp for holding the device. With the augmented reality application running, the device provides a display of the augmented reality images associated with the image on the interchangeable tracker in a hands-free manner. The tracker base spins, providing different viewpoints of the augmented reality images. The tracking element and the image capture device are held in a fixed spatial relationship with respect to one another, resulting in a stable image. The apparatus provides interactions in a multi-system environment by invoking commands between the device and an external multimedia component.

  • Patent number: 9656850
Abstract: A device for preventing the overflow of a fluid reservoir, having a first tubular body with a hole through the interior and exterior surfaces at one end, a second tubular body disposed within the first body such that a portion of the interior surface of the first body and the exterior surface of the second body define an air channel, and a floatation device. The position of the tubular bodies relative to one another determine whether air from a fluid reservoir may exit the reservoir via the hole in the end of the first body. The flotation device is connected to an end of the second body and floats in the fluid reservoir wherein movement of the second body relative to the first body is caused by a change in the water level, such that the air channel is opened or closed by the position of the floatation device.

  • Publication number: 20170068918
Abstract: Text content provided to one or more content providers that contains one or more textual elements describing an issue experienced by a user interacting with a product in development is received. The received text content into one or more textual elements of interest associated with the issue is parsed. Whether there exists issue entries in a repository that include one or more of the textual elements of interest, wherein each entry includes a predetermined risk level associated with the issue is determined. If there exists a plurality of entries in a repository that include one or more of the textual elements of interest: entry in the repository that most closely matches the one or more textual elements of interest is identified, and a risk level for the issue, based, in part, on the predetermined risk level of the identified entry, is determined.

  • Publication number: 20170068919
Abstract: Text content is received, provided to content providers that contains textual elements describing an issue experienced by a user interacting with a product in development. Textual elements of interest associated with the issue from the received text content are identified. Whether issue entries exist in a repository that include the textual elements of interest is determined. If issue entries in the repository exist including the textual elements of interest, then a most similar issue entry is identified and a risk level for the issue is generated. If no issue entries exists in the repository that includes the textual elements of interest, then a risk level for the issue is generated based on the identified textual elements of interest and metrics of the content providers including a number of unique views received by the issue reported to the content providers, and then a work item is sent to an administrative user.

  • Publication number: 20160366026
Abstract: Technologies for generating an analytical model for a workload of a data center include an analytics server to receive raw data from components of a data center. The analytics server retrieves a workbook that includes analytical algorithms from a workbook marketplace server, and uses the analytical algorithms to analyze the raw data to generate the analytical model for the workload based on the raw data. The analytics server further generates an optimization trigger to be transmitted to a controller component of the data center that may be based on the analytical model and one or more previously generated analytical models. The workbook marketplace server may include a plurality of workbooks, each of which may include one or more analytical algorithms from which to generate a different analytical model for the workload of the data center.

  • Publication number: 20160359683
Abstract: Technologies for datacenter management include one or more computing racks each including a rack controller. The rack controller may receive system, performance, or health metrics for the components of the computing rack. The rack controller generates regression models to predict component lifespan and may predict logical machine lifespans based on the lifespan of the included hardware components. The rack controller may generate notifications or schedule maintenance sessions based on remaining component or logical machine lifespans. The rack controller may compose logical machines using components having similar remaining lifespans. In some embodiments the rack controller may validate a service level agreement prior to executing an application based on the probability of component failure. A management interface may generate an interactive visualization of the system state and optimize the datacenter schedule based on optimization rules derived from human input in response to the visualization.
