  • Patent number: 10834466
Abstract: A voice-controlled device monitors content delivered to a user through a non-interactive or unidirectional medium, such as broadcast television or radio. Each time the device recognizes delivered content that includes an advertisement or solicitation, the device records information identifying the content and the time at which the content is delivered. The device also listens for environmental audio cues suggesting that a user has performed a desired action in response to viewing or hearing the recognized content. If the device determines that a user response has occurred within a predetermined duration of time after a corresponding advertisement or solicitation, the device correlates the response with the content.

  • Patent number: 10821886
Abstract: A computer-implemented method, a computer program product, and a computer system for sensor-based acknowledgments between road traffic participants. One or more cameras on a vehicle identify a gaze direction of a driver of the vehicle. The one or more cameras identify a focused eye state of the driver. One or more object recognition sensors on the vehicle identify objects around the vehicle. The computer system determines whether an object is identified in the gaze direction. In response to the object being identified in the gaze direction, the computer system instructs a light indicator to emit light in a direction toward the object. The light indicator notifies a traffic participant associated with the object that the driver has seen the object.

  • Patent number: 10785603
Abstract: Mechanisms are provided to implement a location identification mechanism to identify a location or route for a user. A starting location of the user is identified in response to receiving a set of details from the user including at least a target location. A three-dimensional model of an area around the starting location, an area around the target location, and an area between the starting location and the target location is generated and current local weather and forecasted local weather associated with the starting location, the target location, and the area between the starting location and the target location is identified. Anticipated wind flow and temperatures within the generated three-dimensional model are simulated to identify a route from the starting location to the target location that meets a set of personal preferences of the user. The identified route is then presented on a user-selected navigation application.

  • Publication number: 20200193386
Abstract: Storing and organizing pre-hiring screening data of multiple candidates and generating weighted scores using different weights. The task-specific data structure includes a task step table that stores multiple task steps. Each of the task steps includes one or more step activities, each of which corresponds to either (1) one or more questions, or (2) one or more assessments. Each question is associated with a question weight, each an attribute weight and/or an attribute weight, and each assessment is associated with an assessment weight and/or an attribute weight. Data related to the one or more questions or the one or more assessments are received and recorded in the task-specific data structure. • Publication number: 20200140065
Abstract: An aerodynamic structure for use on an upper surface of an aircraft wing is disclosed. The wing includes a slat operable between a stowed configuration in which the slat is stowed in a slat recess of the wing, and a deployed configuration in which the slat extends out of the slat recess. When the slat is in the deployed configuration, an end face of the slat recess is exposed, the end face intersecting with the upper surface of the wing at a recess edge. The aerodynamic structure, adjacent to the recess edge, has a volume shaped to encourage air flowing over the recess edge onto the upper surface during flight, to remain attached.

  • Patent number: 10599730
Abstract: An input from a user is received. The input includes a first content on the Internet to be analyzed. In response to receiving the input, the first content is analyzed. The analysis determines a plurality of topics included in the first content. One or more content related to the first content is determined. The one or more content is determined using an ontology and the plurality of topics. A first node is added to an interest panel. The first node is a link to the one or more determined content. The interest panel is an area displayed on a user interface which includes one or more nodes. An indication from the user selecting the first node is received. In response to receiving the indication, the determined one or more content associated with the first node is received. The interest panel is saved.

  • Publication number: 20200084858
Abstract: Mechanisms are provided for automatically providing a user-sensitive amount of light for a specific task. Responsive to detecting an object being lit by a task-lighting device, a set of lighting conditions associated with lighting the object are identified. A first set of parameters is utilized to adjust an amount of light being emitted by a light emitting device of the task-lighting device lighting the object. Responsive to a user manually adjusting the amount of light thereby forming a current amount of light being emitted by the light emitting device, current lighting condition parameters and the current amount of light being emitted by the tight emitting device are identified. The current lighting condition parameters and the current amount of light are then stored as a second set of parameters. The second set of parameters are then utilized for adjusting the amount of light being emitted when changes to the object occurs.

  • Patent number: 10559310
Abstract: Aspects define a capture signal as audio inputs by a user of word content. An input of the capture signal word content is recognized in response to an audio input of the user reciting the capture signal word content into a microphone in communication with the recording device during a recording of a speech presentation by the recording device. A recording portion start time is identified that is prior to a time of the input of the capture signal during the current recording of the audio speech presentation in response to recognizing the input of the capture signal word content from the user. The recording device is driven to capture a portion of the recorded audio speech presentation over a period of time spanning from the recording portion start time to the time of the input of the capture signal word content.

  • Publication number: 20190161174
Abstract: A method of retrofitting a wing of a fixed wing aircraft is disclosed including the steps of providing an existing aircraft wing with a main fixed wing portion, and the main fixed wing portion having a tip end and an existing movable flight control surface connected adjacent the tip end. The existing movable flight control surface is then removed from the main fixed wing portion, and a wing tip device and movable flight control surface are selected as a pair to replace the existing movable flight control surface, with the selected movable flight control surface having an aerodynamic surface of different shape to the shape of the flight control surface removed from the wing. The selected wing tip device and movable flight control surface are then fitted to the main fixed wing portion.
