Abstract: Various methods and systems for creating or performing a dynamic sampling scheme for a process during which measurements are performed on wafers are provided. One method for creating a dynamic sampling scheme for a process during which measurements are performed on wafers includes performing the measurements on all of the wafers in at least one tot at all measurement spots on the wafers. The method also includes determining an optimal sampling scheme, an enhanced sampling scheme, a reduced sampling scheme, and thresholds for the dynamic sampling scheme for the process based on results of the measurements. The thresholds correspond to values of the measurements at which the optimal sampling scheme, the enhanced sampling scheme, and the reduced sampling scheme are to be used for the process.

  • Patent number: 8175831
Abstract: Various methods and systems for creating or performing a dynamic sampling scheme for a process during which measurements are performed on wafers are provided. One method for creating a dynamic sampling scheme for a process during which measurements are performed on wafers includes performing the measurements on all of the wafers in at least one lot at all measurement spots on the wafers.

  • Patent number: 8125055
Abstract: Metallized through silicon vias located in the scribe lanes between die are used to create an electrical connection between the front-side and the rear-side of a silicon die. One of the metallization layers on the front-side of the die comprises portions which extend into the scribe lanes to form capture pads for the through silicon vias. The rear-side of the wafer is metallized and this metallization may, in some embodiments, be patterned to form tracks or components. The silicon die may be used to create improved package on package devices. In other examples, other substrate materials may be used.

  • Patent number: 8110903
Abstract: An improved Quad Flat No-Lead package is described. The package is formed by encapsulating a die mounted on a leadframe with a moulding compound using a mould chase. The mould chase comprises a number of internal projections which form openings in the mould compound to expose regions of the leadframe. These exposed regions of the leadframe may then be used for soldering the package to a substrate. The arrangement of the openings may be designed such that each aperture is the same shape and size and/or that the apertures are arranged in multiple rows on the underside of the package.

  • Patent number: 8104949
Abstract: A time indicator device comprised of first and second interconnected reservoirs containing first and second liquids respectively. A first barrier is provided between said first and second liquids to prevent said liquids mixing. Said first barrier is connected via a conduit to a third reservoir containing a third liquid which is adapted to pass along said conduit over a first predetermined time period and to effect removal of said first barrier upon contact to facilitate mixing of said first and second liquid and generation of a liquid mixture within the second reservoir of different color to the second liquid prior to mixing and thereby provide an indication of when said first predetermined time period has elapsed.

  • Patent number: 8060765
Abstract: A power monitor for electronic devices, such as computer chips, is used to estimate the power consumption and to compare the estimated power consumption against the power budget. The estimated power consumption is based on activity signals from various functional blocks of the computer chip. The activity signals that are monitored correlate accurately to the total number of flip-flops that are active at a given time. If the estimated power consumption exceeds the power budget, the speed of the clock signals supplied to the computer chip is reduced.
