The method may include obtaining an adaptor-device identification that identifies both a wireless adaptor and a wired device coupled with the wireless adaptor; and communicating with a network device via a wireless network using the adaptor-device identification, the wired device being distinguishable from other wired devices using the adaptor-device identification.

Abstract: A remote battery terminal expander for electrically connecting a plurality of appliances to a vehicle battery is disclosed that includes an electrical terminator assembly having a permanent electrical communication with a wire, where the terminator is adapted for electrical connection to the positive terminal of a battery and this terminator assembly is permanently attached to a conductive metal terminal block. The terminal block has a multi-sided block shape, usually with a rectangular shape. The plurality of appliances are in electrical communication with the electrical terminator assembly by use of alternating threaded apertures in each of the sides for receiving threaded fasteners to electrically secure the appliance wires from the plurality of appliances desired to be hooked to the vehicle battery for its power requirements.

Abstract: A diagnostic test system for detecting the presence or absence of an analyte within a test sample is provided. For instance, the system may include a swab and a detection unit. The detection unit includes a first component that is capable of receiving the swab, the first component defining an insertion chamber within which a fluid is capable of being retained. The detection unit also includes a second component that defines a detection chamber within which an assay for detecting the presence or absence of the analyte is capable of being contained. The first component is rotatable relative to the second component from an inactive position to an active position. In the inactive position, the fluid remains substantially contained within the insertion chamber. In the active position, the fluid may flow from the insertion chamber to the detection chamber and contact the assay.

Abstract: A statistical processing system includes a server operably configured with program instructions implementing a plurality of statistical models to at least one of (a) predict a health outcome based on questionnaire responses, (b) assist a patient's choice of therapeutic modality based on questionnaire responses, and (c) assess a health risk or status based on questionnaire responses. Also provided is a research agency communicating with the server and contracted to provide the statistical models using a visual interface communicated by the server. The server is configured to analyze requests received from users relating to a plurality of said statistical models to reduce redundancy in requests for patient data.

Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting ice particle accumulation is disclosed herein. In one exemplary implementation, a method for detecting ice is described in which a parameter within an interior volume of a heated conduit is measured. The method also includes detecting the presence of an accumulation of ice particles based on the parameter measured within the interior volume of the heated conduit.

Abstract: A system and method for forming a cascaded teleconference between digital telephony devices is disclosed. The method comprises selecting a plurality of digital telephony devices for a teleconference. Each digital telephony device includes a microphone, a speaker, an input port, and at least one output port. A cascaded peer to peer network is formed between the selected digital telephony devices. A sum of the local microphone signal and at least one conference microphone signal is transmitted at the output of each of the plurality of digital telephony devices. The at least one conference microphone signal is broadcast over the speaker at each of the plurality of digital telephony devices to provide the cascaded teleconference.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for forwarding voicemail is provided. A voicemail server determines that voicemail data stored in a memory device has been classified as urgent, the voicemail data for forwarding to a recipient communication device. Availability data associated with the recipient communication device is processed to determine an availability of the recipient communication device. If the availability data is indicative that the recipient communication device is available for receiving calls, then the voicemail data is provided to the recipient communication device.

Abstract: A process for producing a lamp, including forming one or more electrical connectors having a predetermined shape for making electrical connections to one or more light source assemblies mounted at predetermined locations on a non-planar support. The light source assemblies are formed by forming an electrical insulator on a peripheral region of an electrically conductive receptacle, forming an electrically conductive contact adapted to fit the peripheral region, attaching the electrically conductive contact to the electrical insulator, mounting a light source in the receptacle, and making a first electrical connection between a first electrically conductive contact of the receptacle and a first contact of the light source, and a second electrical connection between a second electrically conductive contact of the receptacle and a second contact of the light source. The light sources mounted in the electrically conductive receptacles are light emitting diodes and are encapsulated in transparent medium.

Abstract: A computer system includes a data storage module. The data storage module receives, stores, and provides access to both aggregate claims file data and insurance policy data. The computer system also includes a computer processor and a program memory. The computer processor executes programmed instructions and stores and retrieves the data stored in the data storage module. A text mining component is coupled to the data storage module, and analyzes unstructured text in the aggregate claims file data to detect indicators of possible premium fraud. A routing module in the computer system routes for investigation insurance policies that correspond to the claim files in which indicators of possible premium fraud were detected.

Abstract: The present invention comprises a message portal for administering and controlling the exchange of vehicle-related messages between a remote location and a vehicle and a method thereof. In one embodiment, the message portal receives a message from the remote location and determines when the message should be broadcast to a vehicle. The priority of the message is determined by several variables—all which may be updated and/or customized by a user through a user interface. The message portal and method can also automatically relay a vehicle fault message to a remote location, which then analyzes the fault and sends a response message back to the driver.

The login identifier is used to locate an unprocessed user profile associated with the login identifier in a user profile database when the unprocessed user profile exists. A home networked information monitor is delivered to the client computer in accordance with instructions in a processed user profile. The home networked information monitor is capable of accessing each networked information monitor associated with the login identifier. Each networked information monitor is capable of processing distributable computer readable media.
