Abstract: The present disclosure concerns a surgical instrument for manipulating suture. In particular, the present disclosure relates to an instrument for passing suture through tissue. There is described a surgical instrument having a shaft and a handle connected to the proximal end of the shaft. The shaft is formed from a tubular member having a proximal end and a distal end, with a lumen extending between the proximal and distal ends, and a tip distal to the tubular member. The shaft also includes a distal portion having an opening in a sidewall, proximal to the tip. The opening is in communication with the lumen through a side channel. The instrument further includes a suture snare, the snare being slidably receivable within the lumen and side channel, and movable between extended and retracted positions for capturing suture.

The preconfigured visualization profiles and templates include graphic displays, informational reports and data sampling and collection strategies appropriate for the specific sector of manufacturing or industry.

Abstract: A weld with a stepped configuration is provided. The stepped configuration may be machined from a substrate to form a weld preparation which may accommodate a stepped weld. The weld with a stepped configuration and a controlled procedure exhibits improved service life and improved damage tolerance. A welded joint with a stepped configuration, a joined component with a stepped configuration, and method of welding a stepped configuration are also provided.

Abstract: A manufacturing line includes a tape of green material that is directed through a furnace so that the furnace burns off organic binder material and then partially sinters the tape without the use of a setter board. Sintered articles resulting from the manufacturing line may be thin with relatively large surface areas; and, while substantially unpolished, have few sintering-induced surface defects. Tension may be applied to the partially sintered tape as it passes through a second furnace on the manufacturing line to shape resulting sintered articles.

Abstract: A motorized broom that may be used in the game of curling is provided. The broom comprises a moveable synthetic fabric brush head that can provide a sweeping motion consistent with the regulatory requirements governing the game of curling. The motorized curling broom can assist individuals who would otherwise not be able to effectively accomplish a sweeping motion with their own strength or stamina to participate recreationally and competitively in the game. The curling broom comprises: a motor and associated gear reduction and crank configuration for causing a sinusoidal back and forth sweeping action of the brush head. The broom further includes a user control mechanism for intuitive adjustment of the power supplied to the brush head by way of controlling the speed of the motor and the pressure applied to the sweeping surface. A dynamic balancing mechanism reduces unwanted vibration transmitted to the individual using the broom.

Abstract: Physiological sensors may be utilized to obtain physiological data for a user. The sensor data may be utilized in predicting a user's outcome to a medical intervention using one or more models. The models may be automatically executed in response to receiving certain types and/or amount of data, such as data received from one or more physiological remote sensors, such as Internet of Things sensors. The sensors may include heart rate sensors, arterial pressure sensors, glucose sensors, temperature sensors, weight sensors, blood oxygen sensors, urine sensors, saliva sensors, skin conduction sensors, muscle sensors, brain signal sensors, and/or other sensors. A sensor may communicate over the 2360-2400 MHz and/or the 30-37.5 MHz radio frequency (RF) band. The data may be received from a networked data store. Execution of the models may identify health issues in substantially real time, and the operation of one or more medical devices may be modified and/or a communication may be generated.

Abstract: A computer system includes a data storage module which receives, stores, and provides access to determinate data, raw indeterminate data, and extracted indeterminate data captured by an indeterminate data capture module. The computer system also includes a computer processor, a model training component, and a screening module. The model training component generates the predictive model based upon historical determinate and indeterminate data, and continuously adapts the predictive model with new historical data. The screening module categorizes current claims according to whether they are suitable for predictive analysis by the predictive model. The predictive model is applied to the current claims suitable for predictive analysis to determine a value for each claim indicative of whether the current claim transaction is questionable. The system also includes an output device which outputs the determined value for each claim, and a routing modules which routes claim workflow based on the outputted values.
