Abstract: An apparatus for measuring at least one of temperature and pressure within a cylinder of an internal combustion engine can include an engine valve and a sensor. The internal combustion engine can include a valvetrain having rocker arm assembly, a camshaft, a valve, and a hydraulic lash adjuster. The engine valve can have a valve head and a valve stem extending from the valve head in an axial direction. The valve head can have a valve face configured to be in pressure communication with an engine cylinder. The valve stem can have an outer surface with a cylindrical portion and a variably-shaped portion. The variably-shaped portion can define a target detectable by the sensor and the sensor can be installed adjacent to the target. Alternatively, the sensor can be positioned to detect a level of force at some point along the valvetrain.

Abstract: A tissue graft suspension device includes a platform member, a graft connecting element coupled to the platform member such that a portion of the graft connecting element forms a loop for attachment to a tissue graft, and an enclosure member coupled to the loop of the graft connecting element and configured to enclose a biologic material. The enclosure member defines an opening configured to receive the biologic material. The graft connecting element and the enclosure member are configured such that, during use, the tissue graft is coupled to the loop and in contact with the enclosure member.

Abstract: Embodiments provide techniques for providing copy protection from capturing a displayed image using one or more camera devices. Embodiments generate a plurality of frames, based on the received image, such that when the plurality of frames are displayed using at least a threshold refresh rate, the displayed plurality of frames appears as the received image when viewed by a user, and the displayed plurality of frames appears as one of a plurality of other images when captured by an image capture device. The plurality of frames are then output for display on one or more display devices configured to use at least the threshold refresh rate.

Abstract: The present embodiments relates to wireless adaptors. In one embodiment, a method is provided. The method may include obtaining an adaptor-device identification that identifies both a wireless adaptor and a wired device coupled with the wireless adaptor; and communicating with a network device via a wireless network using the adaptor-device identification, the wired device being distinguishable from other wired devices using the adaptor-device identification.

A representation of each package on the server available for downloading is provided. A user may select one or more desired packages for downloading. An application media viewer may also be made available for downloading.

For example, a sensing system of a vacuum interrupter includes a sensor including a material that oxidizes in the presence of air and is at least partially positioned in an evacuated space of a vacuum interrupter, the sensor being configured to produce an indication of impedance of the material; and a control system coupled to the sensor, the control system including an electronic processor and an electronic storage that stores instructions that, when executed, cause the electronic processor to access an indication of impedance produced by the sensor, determine a measure of impedance of the material of the sensor based on the accessed indication of impedance, and determine a condition of the evacuated space based on the determined measure of impedance.

Abstract: An armrest assembly is provided for adjusting an armrest of a seating unit in three degrees of motion. The armrest assembly includes an angle-adjustment mechanism that allows the armrest to pivot and to translate forward, and a lift mechanism that enables vertical articulation of the armrest. The angle-adjustment assembly includes a pivot bracket with a downwardly disposed pin and a shuttle with an arcuate slot to receive the pin. The arcuate slot includes contoured walls that form detents for restricting movement of the pin, thereby restraining rotation of the shuttle, with respect to the pivot bracket, to predefined angular positions. The lift mechanism includes a rack with ride element(s) extending therefrom and locking teeth, and a control bar with track(s). An upward manual actuation of the control bar causes the track to shift laterally and retract the locking teeth, via interaction between the track(s) and ride element(s), respectively.

The visualization system and the EMI system exchange data and information providing both systems with a broader process view than either system has independently. The visualization system can specifically target information and action requests to different classes of manufacturing personnel such as operators and engineers. Additionally, the visualization system maintains an audit log of all production identities, raw material usage, and requested corrective actions.

Abstract: A motorized broom that may be used in the game of curling is provided. The broom comprises a moveable synthetic fabric brush head that can provide a sweeping motion consistent with the regulatory requirements governing the game of curling. The motorized curling broom can assist individuals who would otherwise not be able to effectively accomplish a sweeping motion with their own strength or stamina to participate recreationally and competitively in the game. The curling broom comprises: a motor and associated gear reduction and crank configuration for causing a sinusoidal back and forth sweeping action of the brush head. The broom further includes a user control mechanism for intuitive adjustment of the power supplied to the brush head by way of controlling the speed of the motor and the pressure applied to the sweeping surface. A dynamic balancing mechanism reduces unwanted vibration transmitted to the individual using the broom.

Abstract: A method includes placing a patient's foot in a boot comprising a cam buckle, a pad, and a retention strap. The retention strap is placed over the top of the foot, and the pad is arranged relative to the top of the foot. Pressing on the pad positions the foot within the boot. While pressing on the pad, tension is applied on the retention strap to advance the retention strap through the cam buckle. The cam buckle is configured to automatically limit movement of the retention strap through the cam buckle when tension on the retention strap is released. Tension on the retention strap is released to cause the cam buckle to impede the retention strap from receding through the cam buckle.

The method further includes using the programmed computer to analyze selected regression model specifications to determine at least one of common variables and functions of common variables, to thereby determine a reduced-redundancy request for input of variables, when a plurality of the stored regression model specifications are selected for use.

Abstract: The invention discloses a method by which the health care professional or patient may draw upon historical medical data concerning patients similarly situated in medical condition, to assist him/her in deciding on a clinical intervention procedure to select. This method is specifically tailored to the patient, as data is provided and evaluated from only similarly situated patients, and provides an expectation of potential outcome of the patient should one or the other of the options be selected. The invention further provides a database that may be used in order to provide this comparison based evaluation method. A computer based software system is further disclosed that implements the method. The invention more specifically provides a method by which a post-coronary event patient may make an informed decision of which post-coronary revascularization procedure to undergo in the future management of his disease.
