  • Patent number: 10904632
Abstract: Systems and methods provide live broadcasts with real-time feedback from viewers using mobile computing devices. An example method includes providing a live feed broadcast from a source mobile device to a plurality of viewing devices, receiving, during the live feed broadcast, an engagement from one of the plurality of viewing devices, and associating the engagement with a particular time in the live feed broadcast. The method also includes providing an indication of the engagement to the source mobile device, wherein the source mobile device displays a graphic representation of the engagement during the live feed broadcast and adding the indication of the engagement to the live feed so that a graphic representation is displayed during the live feed at the particular time to users of the plurality of viewing devices. The viewing user may each have a graph relationship with a user of the source mobile device.

  • Publication number: 20200277621
Abstract: Provided are methods, vectors and gene constructs for enhancing expression of a recombinant nucleic acid sequence in transgenic plants and plant tissues. According to the present invention, nucleic acid sequences are obtained and/or derived from the 3? untranslated regions of Zea mays chlorophyll a/b binding protein gene and engineered to flank respective portions of a selected coding region of a vector. The vector construct may be introduced into plants and/or plant tissues through conventional or gene targeting procedures, resulting in enhanced expression of the selected coding region. In some embodiments, the selected coding region is a chimeric gene or gene fragment expressing one or more proteins known to impart a level of insecticidal activity to a transgenic plant and/or plant tissue.

  • Patent number: 10731171
Abstract: This disclosure concerns compositions and methods for promoting transcription of a nucleotide sequence in a plant or plant cell, employing a promoter from a Zea mays KN1 gene. Some embodiments relate to a promoter from a Zea mays KN1 gene that functions in plants to promote transcription of operably linked nucleotide sequences.

  • Publication number: 20200177657
Abstract: Implementations provide low-latency live-video streams using existing content delivery networks. An example method includes receiving a video broadcast as a series of frames and determining, for each frame, whether the frame is a break frame. Responsive to determining that the frame is a break frame, the method includes removing an in-progress tag from a current segment file in a playlist for the video broadcast. The playlist includes at least a previous segment file, the current segment file, and a next segment file, which also has a respective in-progress tag. The method also includes associating the frame with a next segment file in a playlist and transmitting the playlist to a cache server. Responsive to determining the frame in the series of frames is not a break frame, the method includes associating the frame with the current segment file. The frame is transmitted to the cache server as a chunk.

  • Patent number: 10659499
Abstract: Implementations relate to providing selectable content items in communications. In some implementations, a method includes determining that a user is or will be participating in a communication using a device, the communication including an exchange of information with one or more other users. The method determines a set of one or more content items to be presented on the device for selection by the user, the content items derived from stored content and being related to activity performed by the user using the device or one or more other devices, and where the activity is external to the communication. The method causes a presentation of the set of content items with the device for selection by the user, and causes at least one content item selected by the user to be sent in the communication to at least one of the other users.

  • Patent number: 10646407
Abstract: A feeding tube position confirmation device 102, operable to confirm the position of a predetermined portion of a medical feeding tube in a predetermined portion of a human or animal body, the position confirmation device comprising an optical waveguide 106 dimensioned to be insertable into the lumen of the feeding tube, the optical waveguide having a sensing distal end 108 comprising a distal end material and a sensing material mixed with the distal end material, the sensing material operable to provide a change in optical properties at the distal end 110 of the optical waveguide dependent on the environment to which the sensing distal end 108 of the waveguide is exposed. The sensing material may comprise a reflective material. Methods of manufacture and use of such devices are also described.

  • Publication number: 20200124754
Abstract: A method is described for seismic modeling implemented on a computer system including multiple computer nodes, which includes receiving, at a computer processor, a 4D speed of sound in water library and a marine seismic survey geometry; creating, via the computer processor, a full survey 3D Earth model for each seismic shot time based on the 4D speed of sound in water library to generate a set of dynamic 3D Earth models; simulating 4D seismic shots for the set of dynamic 3D Earth models by simulating multiple shots on each node to generate a set of 4D seismic shot gathers; and outputting the 4D seismic shot gathers.

  • Publication number: 20200073354
Abstract: In a managed system controlled by multiple policy managers, conflicts between the policies of the managers are resolved by generating a satisfaction measure to be transmitted to policy managers together with sensor data, indicative of how closely the sensor data satisfies the policy which caused it. This satisfaction measure is used to determine whether actuators controlled by the other policy managers should be triggered by the sensor data. This allows policies to co-operate to prevent conflict between the conflicting requirements of different policies.
