  • Patent number: 8444599
Abstract: The present invention monitors an IV bag injection port and informs the user of prior injections. The present invention employs an object and/or a sealed chamber within a transparent IV fluid bag injection port. In the case of the object, notification of prior use is achieved when the object's or IV fluid's appearance is altered. With respect to the sealed chamber, the chamber's seal is breached to allow fluid to pass between the chamber and the IV bag to change the appearance of the contents of the chamber. Since the injection port and bag walls are at least partially transparent, medical personnel are able to observe the altered appearance of either the object, IV fluid or the sealed chamber.

  • Patent number: 8406728
Abstract: An emergency call (e.g., a 911 call, an alarm company call) forwarded by a telematics call center is routed over the switched PSTN to a Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) call server, where the switched call is converted to a session initiating protocol (SIP) packetized IP call for presentation to an emergency services gateway, which reconverts the call to TDM and connects to a selective router via dedicated circuits, gaining full access to the Enhanced 911 network. This provides a PSAP receiving a call from a telematics call center or other call center with all features available in an Enhanced 911 network, e.g., callback number of the 911 caller, and location of the 911 caller. Location of the caller is provided using a VoIP positioning center (VPC).

  • Patent number: 8369825
Abstract: A switched emergency call (e.g., a 911 call, an alarm company call) forwarded by a telematics call center is converted into a session initiation protocol (SIP) packetized phone call at the call center, and routed over an IP network, for presentation to an emergency services gateway, which connects to a selective router via dedicated circuits, gaining full access to the Enhanced 911 network. This provides a PSAP receiving a call from a telematics call center or other call center with all features available in an Enhanced 911 network, e.g., callback number of the 911 caller, and location of the 911 caller. Location of the caller is provided using a VoIP positioning center (VPC), queried from the call center. In this way, the switched emergency call is converted into a SIP packetized phone call and routed without further passage through the public switched telephone network (PSTN).

  • Patent number: 8346776
Abstract: A method and system for generating a taxonomy for documents from tag data are provided. The method includes obtaining tag data in the form of tags on documents with tag weightings for a document and clustering the tags using the tag weightings for documents, wherein each cluster is an identified subject. The documents are associated with each identified subject and the subjects are compared to identifying relationships between subjects to build a taxonomy of subjects. A tag weighting for a document is the number of times the tag is applied to the document with a user rating of the relevance of the tag to the document. The steps are carried out automatically without user intervention.

  • Publication number: 20120263279
Abstract: An emergency services key (e.g., ESQK or ESRK) is guaranteed to be available from a limited size ESQK pool. A plurality of ESQKs are grouped into a pool of emergency service keys “ESQK Pool ID”, each including anywhere from 1 to N number of ESQKs. Each ESQK preferably has a “Timestamp”, information relating to the specific emergency E911 call (“Call Data ID”), a guard timer, and an optional hold timer. The ESQK having a Call Data ID=“NULL”, and having the oldest Timestamp, is chosen for selection. If no such ESQK has both Call Data ID=NULL and the oldest Timestamp is found, then the ESQK with merely the oldest Timestamp is selected. The timestamp is reset to a current time plus a guard timer, or hold timer if desired.

  • Publication number: 20120261122
Abstract: A system, apparatus and method for cracking, hydrogenating and extracting oil from underground deposits is presented. An apparatus for extracting low viscosity oil from an oil field includes a gasification unit to generate syngas adapted to hydrogenate and hydrocrack high viscosity oil to produce low viscosity oil. At least one injection well injects the syngas belowground to a location near an upper portion of an oil deposit. At least one production well for recovering and bringing aboveground at least some low viscosity oil that was high viscosity oil that was at least partially hydrogenated and cracked by the syngas to produce the low viscosity oil.

  • Publication number: 20120261112
Abstract: A system and method for cracking, hydrogenating and extracting oil from underground deposits is presented. A system includes a gasifier, an injection well and a production well. The gasifier creates high pressure, high temperature syngas. The pressurized syngas flows through an injection well into a deposit of oil under the ground to crack and hydrogenate the oil to produce upgraded oil with a reduced density and viscosity. The production well of the system receives the reduced density and viscosity oil, transports it above the ground where it may be further separated into a portion that may be sold and a portion that can be gasified in the gasifier.

  • Publication number: 20120261119
Abstract: A system and method for cracking, hydrogenating and extracting oil from underground deposits is presented. A system includes injecting carbon dioxide and syngas into a deposit of oil under the ground to crack and hydrogenate the heavy oil to produce upgraded oil with a reduced density and reduced viscosity. The carbon dioxide acts as a pressurization agent to further reduce the viscosity of the heavy oil. The method transports the reduced density and reduced viscosity oil aboveground. The carbon dioxide is left underground after the reduced viscosity oil is transported aboveground.

  • Publication number: 20120261142
Abstract: A system and method for cracking, hydrogenating and extracting oil from underground deposits is presented. A system includes injecting syngas into a oil deposit to crack and hydrogenate the oil to produce upgraded oil with a reduced density and viscosity. An acid is created to increase the geological matrix within the oil deposit to allow an increase volume of upgraded oil to flow through the geological matrix. For example, condensing the syngas in the oil deposit produces condensed syngas and this can be combined with combining carbon dioxide with the condensed syngas to produce carbonic acid. The upgraded oil with reduced density and viscosity is extracted from the underground deposit to transport the upgraded oil aboveground.

  • Publication number: 20120261123
Abstract: A system and method for cracking, hydrogenating and extracting oil from underground deposits is presented. A method includes injecting a mixture of oxygen, steam and oil into an injection well to upgrade oil in an oil deposit below ground to decrease the viscosity of the oil to product upgraded oil. The upgraded oil is extracted with a production well to bring upgraded oil aboveground. The method monitors at least one characteristic of the upgraded oil to determine when the at least on characteristic exceed a threshold. The mixture of oxygen, steam and oil is adjusted when the at least one characteristic exceeds the threshold value so that the mixture of oxygen, steam and oil does not exceed the threshold.
