  • Publication number: 20140157183
Abstract: The present concept is a lightweight supervisor computer application program for aggregating hosted interactive computer application programs. The lightweight supervisor computer application program is executed on a computer with an operating system. The lightweight supervisor computer application program causes the computer to create a new lightweight supervisor computer application program environment for execution and display of one or more hosted interactive computer application programs selected by user, wherein the lightweight supervisor computer application program environment provides display and other services to each hosted interactive computer application, which services are otherwise provided by the operating system and desktop environment. The hosted interactive computer application programs also simultaneously hosts and displays the aggregation of all selected hosted interactive computer applications in the lightweight supervisor computer application program environment.

  • Publication number: 20140155020
Abstract: A switched emergency call (e.g., a 911 call, an alarm company call) forwarded by a telematics call center is converted into a session initiation protocol (SIP) packetized phone call at the call center, and routed over an IP network, for presentation to an emergency services gateway, which connects to a selective router via dedicated circuits, gaining full access to the Enhanced 911 network. This provides a PSAP receiving a call from a telematics call center or other call center with all features available in an Enhanced 911 network, e.g., callback number of the 911 caller, and location of the 911 caller. Location of the caller is provided using a VoIP positioning center (VPC), queried from the call center. In this way, the switched emergency call is converted into a SIP packetized phone call and routed without further passage through the public switched telephone network (PSTN).

  • Patent number: 8719520
Abstract: A system for data migration between high performance computing architectures and data storage disks includes an intermediate data migration handling system which has an intermediate data storage module coupled to the computer architecture to store data received, and a data controller module which includes data management software supporting the data transfer activity between the intermediate data storage module and the disk drives in an orderly manner independent of the random I/O activity of the computer architecture. RAID calculations are performed on the data prior to storage in the intermediate storage module, as well as when reading data from it for assuring data integrity, and carrying out reconstruction of corrupted data. The data transfer to the disk drives is actuated in sequence determined by the data management software based on minimization of seeking time, tier usage, predetermined time since the previous I/O cycle, or fullness of the intermediate data storage module.

  • Patent number: 8668009
Abstract: A system and method for cracking, hydrogenating and extracting oil from underground deposits is presented. A method includes injecting a mixture of oxygen, steam and oil into an injection well to upgrade oil in an oil deposit below ground to decrease the viscosity of the oil to product upgraded oil. The upgraded oil is extracted with a production well to bring upgraded oil aboveground. The method monitors at least one characteristic of the upgraded oil to determine when the at least on characteristic exceed a threshold. The mixture of oxygen, steam and oil is adjusted when the at least one characteristic exceeds the threshold value so that the mixture of oxygen, steam and oil does not exceed the threshold.

  • Patent number: 8668022
Abstract: A system and method for cracking, hydrogenating and extracting oil from underground deposits is presented. A system includes injecting carbon dioxide and syngas into a deposit of oil under the ground to crack and hydrogenate the heavy oil to produce upgraded oil with a reduced density and reduced viscosity. The carbon dioxide acts as a pressurization agent to further reduce the viscosity of the heavy oil. The method transports the reduced density and reduced viscosity oil aboveground. The carbon dioxide is left underground after the reduced viscosity oil is transported aboveground.

  • Publication number: 20140032185
Abstract: The invention relates to a computer readable medium including software instructions, which when executed by a scaling parameters for processor perform a method. The method includes obtaining a first and a second pre-calculated history, wherein the first and the second pre-calculated history corresponds to a first and a second path of particles through a reference material. The method further includes obtaining a first and a second plurality of phase space points and performing a first and a second set of simulations in parallel on a first and a second GPU. Each simulation uses a distinct one of the first and second plurality of phase space points, the geometry information, and the first and second pre-calculated history. The sets of simulations are performed on the GPU's to obtain a set of simulated histories. The method further includes calculating an absorbed dose of energy in the target using the set of simulated histories.

  • Patent number: 8636691
Abstract: The present invention monitors an IV bag injection port and informs the user of prior injections. The present invention employs an object and/or a sealed chamber within a transparent IV fluid bag injection port. In the case of the object, notification of prior use is achieved when the object's or IV fluid's appearance is altered. With respect to the sealed chamber, the chamber's seal is breached to allow fluid to pass between the chamber and the IV bag to change the appearance of the contents of the chamber. Since the injection port and bag walls are at least partially transparent, medical personnel are able to observe the altered appearance of either the object, IV fluid or the sealed chamber.
