  • Publication number: 20240394085
Abstract: The disclosure provides an approach for failure behavior. Embodiments include detecting a virtual computing instance (VCI) operating on a first node in a first fault domain in a multi-fault domain storage cluster also including a second fault domain comprising a second node, and a witness fault domain comprising a witness node. Embodiments also include automatically registering the first fault domain as a preferred fault domain for the VCI. Embodiments include determining, at the second fault domain, whether a loss of communication over an inter-fault domain network link between the first fault domain and the second fault domain is due to a failure of the first fault domain or of the inter-fault domain network link. Further, embodiments include, in response to the failure of the first fault domain, restarting, on the second node, the VCI, and automatically registering the second fault domain as the preferred fault domain for the VCI.

  • Publication number: 20240211470
Abstract: The technology disclosed relates to reducing forwarding of notifications from a current vertex of a current vertex class by performing a next-hop analysis in a graph with a schema defining at least two classes of vertices with at least one vertex class caching relationship derived virtual properties (“RDVPs”) and how vertices of the vertex classes forward the notifications. The technology involves having, at the current vertex, a notification, ascertaining, from the relationships between the current vertex and target vertices that are connected in one hop, the vertex classes of the target vertices. The current vertex conditionally forwards notifications to vertices of other vertex classes dependent on the next-hop analysis. The next hop analysis is satisfied when the target vertex is configured to update an RDVP cache based on a relationship path or the target vertex is configured to propagate notifications to a further vertex.
