  • Publication number: 20090056075
Abstract: The invention is directed to a hinge with a locking tab made up of a first hinge part having a post extending therefrom and a second hinge part having a sleeve mateable with the post, wherein the sleeve is placed over the post to assemble the hinge. Furthermore, a resilient locking tab associated with one of the first hinge part and the second hinge part is positioned to resiliently snap over the other of the first hinge part or the second hinge part when the parts are fully engaged.

  • Publication number: 20090021122
Abstract: A furniture system has multiple modules in which two or more modules may be arranged together in a variety of combinations. Adjacent modules may be attached using turnbuckles which evenly space the modules and provide a gap between modules. The gap may be masked with removable pilasters that match the finish of the furniture modules. The outer walls of each module are unfinished and therefore end caps may be secured to the outer walls of an assembled system. The end caps match the finish of the modules. Each module has associated with it height adjustable rollers and at least one of those rollers may be locked to prevent rotation.

  • Patent number: 5851814
Abstract: Human elastase IV polypeptides and DNA (RNA) encoding such polypeptides and a procedure for producing such polypeptide by recombinant techniques and utilizing such polypeptide for therapeutic purposes, for example, restoration of elasticity of arterial walls, improvement of serum lipid abnormality and improvement of serum lipoprotein metabolism are disclosed. Also disclosed are antagonist/inhibitors against such polypeptides and their use in treating inflammation, arthritis, e.g. rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, septic shock, pancreatitis and limiting tissue damage in ulceration. Diagnostic assays for identifying mutations in nucleic acid sequence encoding a polypeptide of the present invention and for detecting altered levels of the polypeptide of the present invention are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5005099
Abstract: This invention relates to a method and apparatus for preventing the fast-forwarding of a video tape cassette through a commercial advertisement recorded at the beginning of the tape. The methods disclosed make use of the standard photoelectric circuitry normally built into a video cassette recorder for sensing the transparent ends of a tape and stopping the recorder. Actuation of the standard stop circuitry may be accomplished by adding an auxiliary light source and associated operating circuitry to illuminate the photocell thereof.

  • Patent number: 4505202
Abstract: A projectile for dispersing a riot control agent material into the atmosphere at a target. The projectile is designed to open in flight and scatter a number of independent dispersal charges over a limited target area, and comprises a sabot in the form of a number of segments which are locked together prior to launching, which contains the dispersal charges and a delayed opening means which initiates opening in flight, thereby releasing the charges along approximately the same trajectory as the former projectile. In a preferred embodiment the sabot is cylindrical, in two segments hinged together at their rear end, locked together by either a collar or a pin and socket arrangement, and containing a number of cylindrical charges in line, with an axial channel. The projectile is fired from a gun, and firing initiates a pyrotechnic delay which activates an explosive or pyrotechnic charge in the channel and between the charges to open the sabot and activate and disperse the charges.
