  • Publication number: 20240074692
Abstract: Techniques are described for determining cognitive impairment, an example of which includes accessing a set of epochs of magnetoencephalography (MEG) data of responses of a brain of a test patient to a plurality of auditory stimulus events; processing the set of epochs to identify parameter values one or more of which is based on information from the individual epochs without averaging or otherwise collapsing the epoch data. The parameter values are input into a model that is trained based on the parameters to determine whether the test patient is cognitively impaired.

Abstract: A critical data display process includes a computer directing a medical testing result for a patient to appear on a health care practitioner critical data display of a health care practitioner display monitor of a single health care practitioner. The process also includes the computer prompting the single health care practitioner through the health care practitioner critical data display to review the medical testing result for the patient on the health care practitioner critical data display, to designate or accept a previous designation of the medical testing result as either critical or noncritical, and to enter or authorize patient instructions. • Publication number: 20230107435
Abstract: A system may access electroencephalography (EEG) data of a subject, the EEG data including responses of the subject to an activation procedure. A system may analyze the EEG data including a plurality of epochs corresponding to the responses to identify first peaks, second peaks, and third peaks in one or more epochs. A system may determine values of a parameter in the plurality of epochs, the parameter being a characteristic of the first peak, the second peak, and/or the third peak. A system may generate a visual representation of the EEG data of the subject, the visual representation including an illustration of the first peak, the second peak and/or the third peak of a representative epoch or a heatmap compiled from the plurality of epochs, and the visual representation further including a graphical representation of the parameter that is presented as evidence of whether the subject is cognitively impaired.

  • Patent number: 9286443
Abstract: Computer-enabled systems and methods aggregate data related to a particular subject or field and present the data in a simplified display. The data is divided into predetermined categories, which are graphically displayed in a predetermined arrangement. Systems and methods differentiate and visually display critical data abnormalities separately from non-critical data. The systems and methods enable an observer to identify the critical deviations or anomalies of data with respect to a predetermined base line by an intuitive visual display of all of the data from any sized data universe on a single screen. The data is indexed at multiple display levels such as a stack of one patient's data, a stack of all patient data for the universe of patients of a single practitioner, or a group of practitioners of any size. A portion of the display preferably may be selected and expanded to show only that portion in greater detail.

  • Publication number: 20150313901
Abstract: The invention encompasses protectant agents including uracil or a metabolite thereof that effectively treat the cutaneous toxicities and dermatological side-effects associated with chemotherapeutic agents. Specifically, and surprisingly, the compositions of the invention including uracil or a metabolite thereof are effective for treating various dermatoses including atopic dermatitis, irritant contact dermatitis, radiation-induced dermatitis, dry skin dermatitis, papulopustular rashes, xerosis, pruritus, actinic keratosis, and genital warts.

  • Patent number: 9119855
Abstract: A composition and method for the treatment of the side-effects associated with the administration of cancer chemotherapeutic agents involves the oral ingestion of a slow release capsule containing adenine. In some embodiments, the slow release capsule also contains orotate. The systemic administration of a proton pump inhibitor decreases systemic absorption of orotate, and the systemic administration of allopurinol decreases the formation of 2,8-dihydroxy adenine from adenine. In an alternative embodiment, cationic liposomes contain purine/pyrimidine precursors. The cationic liposomes bind to the cells lining the mucosa of the intestinal tract and then the contents of the cationic liposome are then taken up in the interior of the cells to prevent the metabolism of the cancer treatment drug 5-FU into a toxic species. A method for prevention of oral stomatitis and a method for treatment of dysplastic tissue are also disclosed.
