  • Patent number: 7627891
Abstract: A prevention-based network auditing system includes a central compliance server generating network policies and configuring audits of the data communications network. The compliance server presents a graphical user interface (GUI) to describe the specific data gathering parameters, policies to be analyzed, and the schedule of analysis. One or more audit servers strategically deployed around the network employ heterogeneous data-gathering tools to gather information about the network in response to the configured audits, and transmit the gathered information to the compliance server. An audit repository stores the gathered information for use by the compliance server for security and regulatory policy assessment, network vulnerability analysis, report generation, and security improvement recommendations.

  • Patent number: 7536456
Abstract: A prevention-based network auditing system includes a central compliance server storing both natural language policy documents and machine-processable policy rules in an audit repository. The compliance server provides a client-side user interface allowing a user to easily generate a machine-auditable policy by selecting/generating a natural language policy source document, and linking the applicable machine-processable policy rules to the applicable portions of the source document. The selected machine-processable policy rules are then applied to information gathered about the network during a scheduled network audit session for efficiently and systematically determining whether policy violations and/or vulnerabilities exist.

  • Publication number: 20090120437
Abstract: A flow generator for delivering breathable gas to a patient includes a processor coupled with operation sensors and a user interface. The processor is programmed to generate at least one of time-based or event-based messages relating to at least one of flow generator operation, flow generator service, flow generator use, patient health, peripheral devices and services, patient treatment, and reminders. Time-based messages are generated at predetermined time intervals based on either time of use or elapsed time. The event-based messages are generated based on signals from the operation sensors. The user interface is configured to deliver the messages to at least one of a display, a flow generator service provider, the patient and a physician. By this system, operation of the flow generator is facilitated and enhanced.

  • Patent number: 7527147
Abstract: A system and method are provided for organizing and loading orthodontic appliances, for example orthodontic brackets, onto set-up trays. The system includes an organizer tray which holds a set-up tray in a fixed orientation, and also holds a plurality of packages of orthodontic brackets in predetermined relationships to bracket staging areas on the set-up tray. Bracket packages and the organizer tray are configured so that the brackets are presented in the same orientation, when in their packages held by the organizer tray, as they will have when transferred to the set-up tray. As a result, the brackets can be loaded onto the set-up tray from the packages without re-orientation. The organizer tray has a storage base that holds supplies of packages of the different brackets of a given set so that the organizer tray can be reloaded with packages. Preferred organizer tray and package configurations are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20080192005
Abstract: A gesture recognition engine and method provides for recognition of gestures comprising movement of an object. Input data is received related to a succession of positions, velocities, accelerations and/or orientations of the at least one object, as a function of time, which input defines a trajectory of the at least one object. Vector analysis is performed on the trajectory data to determine a number N of vectors making up the object trajectory, each vector having a length and a direction relative to a previous or subsequent vector or to an absolute reference frame, the vectors defining an input gesture signature. The input gesture signature is compared, on a vector by vector basis, with corresponding vectors of a succession of library gestures stored in a database, to identify a library gesture that corresponds with the trajectory of the at least one object.
