  • Publication number: 20190239557
Abstract: A method of, and equipment for gathering fibres (12) entrained a gas stream, for example by melt blowing, comprises an enclosure (50) having an inlet (57), through which a gas stream carrying entrained fibres (12) may be directed into the enclosure (50), a fibre outlet (58) from which an assembly of gathered fibres (12) may be withdrawn from the enclosure (50) and an exhaust outlet (41) through which gas may pass out of the enclosure (50). The enclosure (50) is constructed to provide a pathway for the fibres (12) from the inlet (57) to the fibre outlet (58) in which surplus gas in the gas stream is separated from the entrained fibres (12) and directed to the exhaust outlet (41), thereby reducing turbulence in the fibres (12) in the enclosure (50) which may affect the quality of the finished assembly.

  • Patent number: 10362240
Abstract: The disclosure extends to endoscopic devices and systems for image correction of a rotating sensor. The disclosure allows for the distal image sensor to rotate as the user rotates the lumen with respect to a fixed handpiece. The system includes an angle sensor located at the junction of the rotating lumen and the fixed handpiece. Periodic measurements of angle are used in the system's image processing chain in order to effect suitable software image rotations, thereby providing a final displayed image or video stream with the desired orientation.

  • Publication number: 20190205306
Abstract: An online review system determines scores for document authors and document reviewers. An author score is based on a number of comments added to a document by reviewers. One way to compute the author score is to use a ratio of a number of comments provided by reviewers of a document to a number of lines of document contents provided by the author. A reviewer score for a reviewer is based on an amount of comments subsequently made by other reviewers, and on the document content itself, such as a ratio of a number of comments provided in subsequent reviews of a document to a number of lines of original document contents. In some embodiments, the online review system monitors trends in scores of individuals or teams.

  • Publication number: 20190133416
Abstract: The disclosure extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for detecting whether an illumination source of an endoscope is in use (inside the body of a patient) versus not in use (outside the body of a patient). The disclosure relies on the fact that the working environment is lit solely by the endoscope and its components. Thus, communication between the illumination or light source controller and the imaging device, such as a surgical camera, is required. When the illumination or light source is turned off and the endoscope is outside the body, a sensor will detect ambient light alerting the illumination source controller that it is outside the body, which then keeps the illumination source off or at a low intensity level. Conversely, when the illumination source is turned off and the endoscope is inside the body, the sensor will not detect any light (or will detect only a very low level of light).
