  • Publication number: 20210025929
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to the determination of impedances in an electrical network. Methods and apparatuses for determining one or more impedances within a root and branch network are disclosed. The impedance of a common root part and the impedance of a branch of the electrical network may be determined based on the current in the common root part, the current in a branch of the electrical network and the voltage across the common root part and the branch. By determining the impedance of different parts of the electrical network in this way, the network may be monitored over time and the location of any faults or impending faults in the network may be identified more exactly without requiring invasive network probing and testing.

  • Patent number: 10644528
Abstract: A system includes a charging station and one or more receiving devices receiving wireless power from the charging station. The charging station includes an orientation adaptable antenna (OAA). The OAA may generate a magnetic field component parallel to the plane of the OAA to charge devices oriented at 90 degrees with respect to the OAA. The OAA may generate a magnetic field along different directions within the plane parallel to the OAA. The OAA may be able to adjust the direction of the field to couple to devices with antennas in different orientations. The OAA may further produce a magnetic field normal to the plane of the OAA. The OAA may adjust the relative strengths the various directional components of the magnetic field to align the field normal to the antennas of the receiving devices in up to three dimensions, simultaneously charge receiving devices in different orientations, or both.

  • Patent number: 10599404
Abstract: A method of compiling program code includes determining if the program code controls a programmable logic device to execute other program code. The program code is a parallel program having a barrier function call for a group of threads. If it is determined that program code is to control the programmable logic device, then the program code is transformed by replacing the barrier function call with control logic inserted into the program code such that the transformed program code remains a parallel program and maintains synchronization among the group of threads. A compiler system that compiles program code with a barrier function call for a group of threads is also described.

  • Publication number: 20200046259
Abstract: A method of characterising tremor stability in a subject is described for a subject having an involuntary tremor symptomatic of a neurological disorder. The method comprising: identifying a series of tremor cycles from measured tremor data of the subject, said tremor cycles measuring periodic variation in movement of the subject due to the tremor; determining an instantaneous frequency for each tremor cycle and collating the instantaneous frequencies; determining an instantaneous variation between the instantaneous frequencies of each pair of adjacent tremor cycles within the series; comparing the instantaneous variation to the collation of determined instantaneous frequencies to determine a distribution of instantaneous variations; and determining an index value of the distribution of the instantaneous variations, said index value defining the stability of the tremor.
