  • Patent number: 10042358
Abstract: A mobile application runs on a mobile computing device and allows a user thereof to interact with a wheeled juvenile product, such as a stroller. The juvenile product may have a generator for generating electricity from rotation of its wheels. Through the mobile app, the user can enter a preference for how that generated electricity is used, including how much is allocated to charge the juvenile product's battery that power electronic components of the juvenile product, versus how much is allocated to a charging station that charges external electronic devices. Additionally, the juvenile product can include a memory that stores data about trips with the juvenile product, including the date and time of the trip, the duration, and the distance. Upon a request issued from the mobile app, that data can be uploaded to the mobile app so that the user can view the trip data on the user's mobile computing device. That trip data can also be uploaded to a remote server.

  • Publication number: 20180181478
Abstract: Diagnostic operations upon a target apparatus 2 having a target transaction master 8 which initiates memory transactions with one or more target transaction slaves 12, 14, 16 are provided by halting operation of the target transaction master 8 while permitting continued operation within the target apparatus 2 of at least some of the target transaction slaves 12, 14, 16. Opening state data representing an operating state of the target transaction master 8 is transferred to a model transaction master 32. Further operation of the target transaction master 8 is emulated using the model transaction master 32 using the opening state data. Diagnostic operations are performed upon the model transaction master 32. When the model transaction master 32 emulates initiation of a memory transaction with a memory address mapped to one of the target transaction slaves 12, 14, 16, this initiates the memory transaction to be performed with the target apparatus 2.

  • Publication number: 20180110446
Abstract: The invention discloses apparatus, and the method of using it, comprising one, or more, electronic sensors attached to a part(s) of a human or animal's body. The patient then performs an activity, or has an activity performed on them, and the results of the measured parameters are recorded by the sensor and processed, or downloaded and processed. The sensor may include a range of instrumentation, e.g. accelerometers, magnetometers, gyroscopes, force sensors, etc. to record positions (in the X, Y and Z planes), movements, angular movements, forces, stresses in bones/joints, etc. The use of the apparatus and method are appropriate to medical treatments, and perfecting sporting or dancing techniques and the results are processed to give the clinician or coach appropriate information to improve the problem being addressed. Methods for measuring lateral angular movement of hinged joints and spinal extension are taught.

  • Publication number: 20180067165
Abstract: An apparatus 2 for performing serial data communication with a target device 4, such as an integrated circuit, utilizes serial transfer circuitry 16 to perform a serial transfer of data to a communication register 26 in the target device 4 and serial retrieval circuitry 18 to retrieve an acknowledge signal 32 indicating whether or not the target device is ready to perform further processing following such a transfer. Delay control circuitry 20 serves to apply a predetermined delay period following the transfer of the serial data via the serial transfer circuitry before initiating the retrieval of the acknowledge signal. This predetermined delay period is controlled in dependence upon the ready status indicated by the acknowledge signals retrieved such that the proportion of acknowledge signals retrieved which indicate an unready status meets a predetermined condition, such as being less than a non-zero predetermined value.

  • Publication number: 20170288292
Abstract: In certain embodiments, a linear adjustment mechanism includes an adjustment plate, an adjustment nut, and a holding plate. The adjustment plate has an exterior-threaded section that engages with the adjustment nut, a mounting-bolt opening, and a clamping-bolt slot. The holding plate has a horizontal section having a clamping-bolt opening, a vertical section connected to the horizontal section, and an adjustment-nut opening. With (i) the adjustment nut engaged with the adjustment-nut opening and the exterior-threaded section of the adjustment plate and (ii) the clamping bolt inserted within (a) the clamping-bolt slot of the adjustment plate and (b) the clamping-bolt opening of the holding plate, (1) rotation of the adjustment nut on the exterior-threaded section of the adjustment adjusts the linear position of the adjustment plate relative to the holding plate and (2) rotation of the clamping bolt secures the linear position of the adjustment plate relative to the holding plate.

  • Patent number: 9689840
Abstract: Conjugates of 1,3-bis(1,4,7-triazacyclonon-1-yl)-2-hydroxypropanes with a variety of conjugating members are used in the formation of dinuclear metal complexes which bind to phosphate esters. By virtue of their conjugated forms, the complexes are incorporated into chromatographic media, affinity binding reagents, and dyes, which make the complexes useful in a wide range of assays, separations, and purifications. In addition, dinuclear metal complexes of 1,3-bis(1,4,7-triazacyclonon-1-yl)-2-hydroxypropanes that are not so conjugated are used in the detection of phosphate esters of biological species by either MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry or by dye displacement.

  • Patent number: 9650855
Abstract: A riser disconnect/reconnect system including a disconnection package (RDP) and a modified lower marine riser package (LMRP) are provided for quick disconnection of the marine drilling riser (MDR) from the LMRP. The RDP includes a flex joint and a release connector (RC) with a mandrel that engages a modified LMRP. In an emergency event, the RDP is disconnected from the LMRP allowing access to the BOP stack for emergency intervention. In routine drilling operations, the RDP is disconnected from the LMRP facilitating the recovery of the LMRP or BOP stack to the surface for repair or maintenance without recovering the MDR. The RC joins the flex joint to the uppermost annular blowout preventer in the LMRP. The RC is configured for use in a standard or inverted position. Also provided is a mechanical locking connector, a resident ROV and sonar technology and methods of using same with the RDP.
