  • Publication number: 20160252207
Abstract: A locking foldable foot includes a mounting plate, a first member, and a second member. The proximal end of the first member is attached to the mounting plate at a pivot. The second member is coupled to the first member and is structured to move parallel to the first member. The proximal end of the second member is structured to be capable of engaging the mounting plate to prevent rotation of the first and second members about the pivot. A test and measurement instrument includes the locking foldable foot. A method of preventing unintentional closure of a foldable foot on a test and measurement instrument includes locking the foldable foot in an open position in response to the weight of the test and measurement instrument being applied to the foldable foot.

  • Patent number: 8991291
Abstract: A multiple slicing device includes a frame including a receptacle and a plurality of cutting elements, and a working portion including an activation mechanism, a cam mechanism, and a forcing member. The activation mechanism can include two handles where moving one of the handles toward the other handle collapses the forcing member via the cam mechanism, onto a food item placed in the receptacle between the forcing member and the cutting elements, to efficiently and simultaneously cut or slice the food item into multiple pieces.

  • Patent number: 8322277
Abstract: Devices and systems for compressing food articles are shown and described. Embodiments of the present invention can be used to squeeze, press, extrude, or otherwise process food articles. The disclosed embodiments can include a lever with a plurality of gear teeth, a base with a plurality of gear teeth, and a receptacle. The gear teeth can engage one another. The lever and base can be actuated to move a piston head into and out of the receptacle to compress food. A piston assembly of the compression tool can provide a mechanical advantage to provide relatively high compressive forces.

  • Patent number: 7828237
Abstract: A modular grinding core includes a housing configured to be operatively installed in a variety of external grinding devices, a rasp support member having a coupling adapter configured to be operatively coupled to an actuation mechanism of a first external grinding device at a first time and to an actuation mechanism of a second external grinding device at a second time after being removed from the first external grinding device. The rasp support member includes a receptacle configured to removably receive any one of a variety of rasps. The rasp support member is configured to reciprocate in response a force exerted by the external grinding device. The modular grinding core further includes a grind block member resisting displacement of the food items or spices away from the rasp support member, and an adjustment mechanism allowing a user to adjust a gap between the grind block and rasp support members.
