  • Patent number: 11041477
Abstract: A method of making an elongate reinforcing structure, such as a shear web, for a wind turbine blade is described. The reinforcing structure comprises a longitudinally-extending web and a longitudinally-extending flange. The flange extends along a longitudinal edge of the web and is arranged transversely to the web. The method involves providing a flange structure comprising a flange portion, and a projecting portion that extends along the length of the flange portion and projects transversely from a surface of the flange portion. The projecting portion is bonded between laminate layers of the web. The flange structure is preferably a pultruded component having a T-shaped cross-section. The method allows a simple, inexpensive and reconfigurable mould tool to be used. In preferred embodiments the mould tool has a flat surface without sidewalls.

  • Publication number: 20210121237
Abstract: Systems and methods describe augmented reality provided for navigated surgery. An augmented reality overlay (e.g. computer generated images) is rendered and displayed over images of a tracked anatomical structure. An optical sensor unit provides tracking images of targets associated with objects including the anatomical structure in a real 3D space as well as visible images thereof. The anatomical structure is registered, generating corresponding poses of the anatomical structure in a computational 3D space from poses in the real 3D space. The overlay pose in the computational 3D space is aligned with the anatomical structure pose so that the overlay is rendered on a display of the anatomical structure in a desired pose. The overlay may be generated from a (3D) overlay model such of a generic or patient specific bone, or other anatomical structure or object. The overlay may be used to register the anatomical structure.

  • Publication number: 20210102523
Abstract: A method of making a wind turbine blade is described. The wind turbine blade comprises first and second half shells joined together and a shear web bonded between inner surfaces of the respective half shells. The blade is made in a one-stage join up process, which involves supporting the half shells in respective mould halves, and arranging one of the half shells on top of the other half shell with the shear web arranged between the two half shells. Adhesive is provided between the shear web and the inner surfaces of the respective half shells. During the join-up process, the shear web is supported by stabilisers. The use of stabilisers avoids the need for a jig to support the shear web. Stabilisers attached to an inboard end of the shear web may remain accessible after the join-up and can be removed.

  • Patent number: 10965673
Abstract: Methods and systems for establishing a chain of relationships are disclosed. An identity verification platform receives a first request for registration comprising an identification of a first user, identification of an entity, and a relationship between the first user and the entity; verifies the identity of the first user and the relationship between the first user and the entity; and verifies that the entity is legitimate. Once a relationship between a first individual, invited by the first user, and the entity is confirmed, the platform creates a custom badge representing the relationship between the first individual and the entity for display on the entity's website. The platform receives an identification of a selection by an end user of the custom badge and, responsive to receiving the identification of the selection, renders, on a domain controlled by the identity verification platform, a verification that the relationship between the first individual and the entity is valid.

  • Patent number: 10954915
Abstract: Method of bonding a shear web (50) to a wind turbine blade shell (75) and the obtained blade, wherein the shear web (50) comprises a web and a mounting flange (56) oriented transverse to the web (50). The method involves: providing a seal (66, 68) on the mounting flange (56) of the shear web (50) such that when the mounting flange (56) is positioned against the blade shell (75), a cavity (76) is defined by the seal between the mounting flange (56) and the blade shell (75). The air of the cavity (76) is then evacuated and adhesive is injected into the cavity (76). The use of pieces (80) to keep the distance between the mounting flange (56) and the blade shell (75) is preferred.

  • Patent number: 10936347
Abstract: A method comprises a computer-implemented contextual virtual assistant (CVA) analyzing one or of a user corpus and input user information to determine to communicate user information to a primary recipient. In the method, the CVA receives information associated with a recipient context that includes the primary recipient, and can determine from the context information that an ancillary recipient is privy, in the recipient context, to information output by the system. The CVA further determines, in the method, output information, based on the user information, and a recipient context to communicate to the primary recipient. The recipient context, comprises a preferred location of the primary recipient, and preferred time, to communicate the output information. A CVA system includes a user corpus, CVA input and output devices, and processors. The processors can perform the method. A computer program product can include instructions to cause one or more processors to perform the method.

  • Publication number: 20210010361
Abstract: Aspects of the subject technology relate to systems and methods for pumping multiple wellbores to form and stabilize fractures during a fracturing job. A fluid pump of known operating pump capacity measurable in barrels per minute is selected. The pump is fluidly connected with each of a plurality of cased wellbores in a subterranean formation for providing fracturing fluid to each of the wellbores. The plurality of wellbores each have at least one perforation through a casing of the wellbore that has a known rate range within which fracturing fluid is required to successfully fracture the subterranean formation outside the perforation through the perforation.
