  • Patent number: 10841307
Abstract: Methods and systems for establishing a chain of relationships are disclosed. An identity verification platform receives a first request for registration comprising an identification of a first user, identification of an entity, and a relationship between the first user and the entity; verifies the identity of the first user and the relationship between the first user and the entity; and verifies that the entity is legitimate. Once a relationship between a first individual, invited by the first user, and the entity is confirmed, the platform creates a custom badge representing the relationship between the first individual and the entity for display on the entity's website. The platform receives an identification of a selection by an end user of the custom badge and, responsive to receiving the identification of the selection, renders, on a domain controlled by the identity verification platform, a verification that the relationship between the first individual and the entity is valid.

  • Publication number: 20200347820
Abstract: An insert (105) for a wind turbine blade root. The insert (105) has a bushing (40) and an outer surface with circumferential annular grooves (68). A transition layer 5 (102) is built up around the bushing (40). The transition layer (102) has fibrous material sheet layers and filamentary material windings (80) in the grooves which alternate with fibrous plies (98) covering the grooves (68). Each fibrous ply (98) is anchored into the grooves (68) by the windings (80). Fibrous battens (148) are fitted around the transition layer (102) to form an insert body (108). Each batten (148) 10 has a deltoid cross-section so that the battens give the insert a quadrilateral or trapezoidal cross-section.

  • Publication number: 20200233683
Abstract: A method comprises a computer-implemented virtual assistant (VA) determining user information to communicate to a recipient, receiving VA input information, and determining a recipient context. In response to determining the recipient context, the VA composes a preferred presentation based on information attributes and recipient attributes. The VA outputs the user information according to the preferred presentation. A virtual assistant system comprises personal information, a preferred presentation, and a computer-implemented VA. The VA is configured to compose user information and to receive VA input information. In response to receiving the VA input information, the VA determines a recipient context and composes the preferred presentation based on the user information, recipient context, information attributes, and recipient attributes. The VA outputs the user information according to the preferred presentation. A computer program product can embody the method.

  • Publication number: 20190383520
Abstract: Drive mechanisms for solar concentrators, and associated systems and methods are disclosed. A representative solar energy collection system includes an at least partially transparent enclosure, a receiver positioned in the enclosure to receive solar radiation passing into the enclosure, a concentrator positioned within the enclosure to focus incoming solar radiation on the receiver, and a drive system operatively coupled to the concentrator to rotate the concentrator relative to the receiver. The drive system can include a drive chain operatively coupled to the concentrator, a drive gear engaged with the drive chain, and a drive motor coupled to the drive gear to rotate the drive gear and rotate the concentrator relative to the receiver.

  • Publication number: 20190309485
Abstract: An interlocking paver system including polygon and spacer pavers. The polygon paver has a longitudinal axis extending from a first to a second side and a transverse axis orthogonal to the longitudinal axis and extending from a third to a fourth side. The spacer paver has a longitudinal axis extending from a first to a second side and a transverse axis orthogonal to the longitudinal axis and extending from a third to a fourth side. Both the polygon and spacer pavers are symmetrical about the longitudinal and transverse axes. The spacer paver is configured to selectively interlock with the polygon paver with either of the third or fourth side of the polygon paver adjacent either of the first or second side of the spacer paver and either of the first or second side of the polygon paver adjacent either of the third or fourth side of the spacer paver.

  • Patent number: 10428790
Abstract: A method of making an elongate wind turbine blade is described. The wind turbine blade extends longitudinally between a root end and a tip end in a spanwise direction, and the method comprises: (a) providing an elongate mould tool (20) extending longitudinally in a spanwise direction; (b) arranging an elongate spar structure (40) in the mould tool, the spar structure (40) N extending longitudinally in the spanwise direction; (c) arranging core material (24) adjacent to the spar structure (40); (d) providing resin-permeable material (114) between the spar structure (40) and the core material (24); and (e) administering resin into the mould during a resin infusion process. The resin-permeable material (114) restricts the flow of resin between the spar structure (40) and the core material (24) in the spanwise direction and thereby substantially prevents lock-offs from forming during the infusion process.

  • Publication number: 20190278504
Abstract: A data de-duplication in a distributed storage of data objects in a cluster system, in which plural data objects are distributed across a group of node apparatuses and stored in units of data blocks. Each metadata structure including a root metadata node and one or more direct metadata nodes, and optionally including one or more indirect metadata nodes; and a metadata object is stored for managing de-duplicated data blocks based on a metadata structure of the metadata object wherein at least one direct metadata node of the metadata structure of the metadata object includes a block reference pointing to a de-duplicated data block being associated with two or more data objects. Preferably, each of the metadata structures of the two or more data objects being associated with the de-duplicated data block includes a respective direct metadata node including an object reference to the metadata structure of the metadata object.
