  • Publication number: 20070062938
Abstract: A collapsible one-handed support for a plate and a beverage container includes horizontally oriented upper and lower rigid supports having a vertical hand-grippable connecting member attached to the supports at upper and lower articulating joints. The upper and lower supports are supported parallel to one another in a first configuration, and can be folded into a substantially flat stacked arrangement with the vertical connecting member therebetween in a second configuration. The upper support has a front section sized to hold a plate and the rear section of the upper support has an aperture therein defining an annular grip sized to receive a beverage container. The rear section of the lower support has a recess adapted to hold the base of a beverage container which is in coaxial alignment with the annular grip, allowing a beverage container to be inserted through the annular grip and seated in the recess.

Abstract: A one-handed support for a plate and a beverage container includes horizontally oriented parallel upper and lower supports having a vertical hand-grippable connecting member attached therebetween. The lower support is adapted to rest on a planar support surface. The upper and lower supports each having approximately circular front and rear sections with a narrow connecting portion therebetween with the connecting member being anchored in the narrow connecting portions. The upper support is sized to hold a disposable plate and includes a clip to hold the plate in place. The rear sections each have an aperture therein defining annular grips sized to receive a beverage container. • Publication number: 20060218747
Abstract: An apparatus and method for protecting a door, door casing, door knob and wall utilizing a door bump angled block, wherein the apparatus and method changes the orientation of a door bump relative to the door and wall. The apparatus and method of the present invention allows a door bump to contact the door or wall squarely, thus allowing the door bump to effectively dissipate the forces generated when the door or wall strikes the door bump. Further, the apparatus and method of the present invention allows the user to adjust the extent to which a door may be opened by varying the position of the door bump, thereby protecting the door, door casing, door knob, wall and abutting objects.

  • Publication number: 20060166433
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a trench capacitor with a reduced resistance in a buried strap window for use in a memory circuit such as a dynamic random access memory circuit may be realized by reducing the number of polysilicon layers that are deposited. The method includes the deposition of a collar material followed by a dry etch of the collar material. The collar material is etched away from the top region leaving a layer of collar material on the wall of the trench between the surface of the first polysilicon layer filling the bottom of the trench and the upper region where the collar material was removed. The second polysilicon layer may be deposited after the collar material has been etched for making contact to other devices.

  • Publication number: 20060160324
Abstract: A process and method for compensating for a radial non-uniformity on a wafer that includes the steps of: centering a rotational thickness non-uniformity of a film on the wafer about the axis of the spin susceptor following a CMP process; positioning a nozzle in the spin processing unit to direct the etching solution along a radius of the wafer; adjusting the flow of the etching solution from the nozzle; adjusting the rotational speed of the spin susceptor to control the residence time of the etching solution; and coordinating the rotational speed of the spin susceptor, flow of etching solution and positioning of the nozzle to maximize the removal of material. The process may be utilized to compensate for the bowl-shaped non-uniformities of an STI oxide. These non-uniformities are compensated for and addressed after a CMP process.

  • Publication number: 20060105519
Abstract: In a semiconductor manufacturing process for a dynamic random access memory, a buried insulator layer such as a buried SIMOX layer between trench capacitors isolates the capacitor from the access transistor, limiting leakage, improving device performance and simplifying manufacturing.

  • Publication number: 20050249036
Abstract: Measuring apparatus for providing information on the relative location of a target site which is radiating a target signal that includes a predetermined pulse signal, comprises receiver means for providing a pair of temporally spaced output pulses in response to a single received said predetermined pulse signal and cross-correlation means coupled to said receiver means for cross-correlating said pair of output pulses or signals derived therefrom.

  • Patent number: 6928895
Abstract: A ballnut assembly is provided in which a locknut (20), which is normally unloaded becomes loaded in the event of failure of a primary load path. This loading causes relative motion between locking nut (24) and the threads of a shaft (8) such that on clearance there between is eliminated. This causes frictional forces to initiate a lock-up of the locknut.

  • Publication number: 20050006345
Abstract: A method for treating a substrate having a layer or coating of material thereon (such as for example a metal conductor coated with an insulating ‘enamel’) comprises the steps of directing a pulsed beam of laser radiation at the substrate to cause an interaction or adjacent the interface between the layer or coating and the substrate, leading to local separation of the layer or coating. The removal is effected by creating an interaction effect at the interface between the substrate and the layer or coating to create an effect similar to a shockwave which causes local separation of the layer or coating at the interface.

  • Patent number: 6489873
Abstract: A temperature control system for a permanent magnetic assembly in a permanent magnetic system comprises thermoelectric heat pumping devices which are in thermal contact with a yoke of the permanent magnet system. The heat pumping devices are controlled by an electronic circuit which controls the current that flows through them, so that the desired temperature of the permanent magnetic assemblies is achieved. Each thermoelectric heat pumping device includes a spring-loaded plunger which is mounted in a hole in the yoke. Heat is exchanged from or to the yoke via ambient air by natural convection or by forced air. Alternatively heat may be exchanged from the yoke via a cooling water circuit.

  • Patent number: 6463457
Abstract: A distributed computing platform using the idle computational processing power of a plurality of provider computers is disclosed. At least one networked server collects tasks from client computers, schedules and distributes the tasks to networked provider computers, and collects and returns results to client computers. A client API forms tasks and collects results. A compute engine operates on the provider computers to communicate with the server and execute tasks using idle computational power.
