  • Patent number: 11058325
Abstract: A patient support apparatus includes a plurality of primary sensors adapted to measure different parameters used in the control of the patient support apparatus. One or more suites of secondary sensors are added to the patient support apparatus to provide data about the primary sensors. The secondary sensors may be used to detect errors in the primary sensors, to modify outputs from the primary sensors, and/or to provide usage and/or diagnostic data about the use of the patient support apparatus. The suite(s) of secondary sensors may measure parameters that affect the outputs of one or more of the primary sensors. In some embodiments, the suite(s) of secondary sensors include one or more dormant sensors that are not used on the patient support apparatus until a code modification is received from one or more external sources instructing the control system of the patient support apparatus to begin using the dormant sensor(s).

  • Patent number: 11060130
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods of imaging template hybridisation for estimating cluster numbers prior to solid phase amplification and sequencing. More particularly, an initial round of imaging is carried out at the single molecule template hybridisation stage which allows a general estimation of cluster numbers prior to clusters being formed. Amplification of the signal allows single molecule imaging to be carried out using standard sequencing imaging apparatus.

  • Patent number: 11054063
Abstract: Clamping device includes a clamp frame that is configured to move between an open configuration, in which the clamp frame is configured to receive at least one longitudinal element, and a closed configuration, in which the clamp frame wraps around and holds the at least one longitudinal element. The clamp frame includes a coupling end having an inner surface and a coupling base having an outer surface. The inner and outer surfaces have profiles that form a locked engagement to hold the clamp frame in the closed configuration. The clamping device also includes a secondary locking mechanism that secures the coupling end and the coupling base to each other. The secondary locking mechanism is activated after the clamp frame is held in the closed configuration by the locked engagement.

  • Publication number: 20210192085
Abstract: A processor that was manufactured by a manufacturer comprises privileged debug operational circuitry, a debug restriction fuse, a credential store, a credential of the manufacturer in the credential store, and debug control circuitry. The debug restriction fuse is a one-time programmable fuse. The debug control circuitry is to automatically restrict access to the privileged debug operational circuitry, based on the debug restriction fuse. The processor may also include public debug operational circuitry, a prevent-unauthorized-debug (PUD) fuse, and an undo-PUD fuse. When the PUD fuse is set and the undo-PUD fuse is clear, the debug control circuitry may respond to an attempt by a debugger to use the public debug operational circuitry by determining whether the debugger is authorized, disallowing access if the debugger is not authorized, and allowing access if the debugger is authorized. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Publication number: 20210169376
Abstract: A location detection system identifies the locations of medical devices such as patient support apparatuses and/or patient care devices within a medical facility. The devices communicate via a wired connection to one or more medical facility systems (e.g. nurse call system, computer network, etc.), and/or via a wireless connection to such systems. The location detection system automatically determines location information of the devices and communicates the location information so that the recipient of any outgoing alerts and/or other information sent from the devices is apprised of the location of the particular device sending the alert or other information. Caregivers are thereby able to respond to the correct location of an alert, and software systems such as EMR systems, admission discharge and transfer (ADT) systems, etc. are able to correlate transmitted device data with the location and/or patient assigned to that location.

  • Publication number: 20210161462
Abstract: A patient support apparatus is provided, such as a bed, cot, stretcher, or the like, that includes a sensor adapted to detect movement of the occupant while the occupant is supported on the support apparatus. A controller monitors outputs from the sensor in response to a mobility assessment control being activated. After monitoring the outputs for a period of time, the controller generates a mobility score based on the outputs from the sensor. In some embodiments, the controller use outputs from the sensor to determine which region of a defined surface area the patient has moved to. The controller records these visited regions over a time period and uses them to generate the mobility assessment. The mobility assessment provides an objective measure of an important factor used in predicting a patient's risk of developing pressure ulcers.

  • Publication number: 20210143767
Abstract: A closed loop control system for controlling a plant comprises a controller includes an input arranged to receive a feedback signal from the plant. The controller is arranged to compare a value of the feedback signal to a set point value x(s) and to produce an error signal c(s) that is at least partially dependent on a difference between the value of the feedback signal and the set point value. The controller also includes an output arranged to supply the error signal c(s) to the plant. A monitor is arranged to compare a value of the error signal c(s) produced by the controller to a threshold value and to produce a warning signal when the value of the error signal c(s) exceeds the threshold value for a period of time greater than a predetermined period.
