  • Patent number: 7364358
Abstract: A status indication device configured for use in an x-ray system is disclosed. The device includes an audio receiver, a processor, a tone generator, and an adjustment mechanism. The audio receiver is configured and disposed to collect audio information surrounding the x-ray system. The processor is coupled to the audio receiver and receptive of a signal representative of the collected audio information. The tone generator is coupled and responsive to the processor and is configured to generate an audio tone in response to a defined status of the x-ray system. The adjustment mechanism is coupled to the tone generator and the processor and dynamically develops a set of audio properties that cause the audio tone to be distinguishable from the collected audio information.

  • Patent number: 7362328
Abstract: An interface for use in a 3-d graphics system comprising a parametric modelling unit for modelling objects as high order surfaces, and a polygon based rendering system for rendering polygon modelled objects for display. The interface comprises an input for receiving data and a subdivision unit coupled to the input for processing the data. The interface includes a converter coupled to the subdivision unit for determining from leaf patch data a first plurality of values representing vertices of tessellating polygons describing the leaf patch, and for determining from sub-leaf patch data a second plurality of values representing the vertices of tessellating polygons describing the sub-leaf patch. The interface also has a combiner, coupled to the converter, for combining the values to form leaf polygon data defining the polygon vertices at a first subdivision level, and an output coupled to the combiner for outputting the leaf polygon data.

  • Patent number: 7356178
Abstract: An improved imaging system includes a memory-storage unit, a multiple-dimensional image processor configured to convert information within a multiple-dimensional data set to a two-dimensional representation in a plane orthogonal to an operator-identified view axis, and an image-rendering device configured to display the two-dimensional representation of a volume-of-interest contained within the three-dimensional data set, wherein the two-dimensional representation is responsive to pixel values associated with a faceplate orthogonal to the view axis. A method for viewing information includes identifying a view axis that intersects a multiple-dimensional data set, modifying the multiple-dimensional data set to align the multiple-dimension data set responsive to the view axis, locating a portion of a structure-of-interest along a vector parallel to view axis, associating a set of pixels with a faceplate, and generating a composite view in accordance with the faceplate.

  • Patent number: 7346856
Abstract: A methodology for displaying a website on a hand held display device (HHDD) is disclosed. The present invention comprises an Image Modification Program (IMP) and a Navigation Program (NP). The IMP analyzes the webpage HTML to determine if an image is present and if the image exceeds the allotted image display space on the HHDD display screen. The IMP calculates the required number of x-axis and y-axis divisions and fragments the image accordingly. The IMP displays the reduced web page on the HHDD, but replaces the reduced image with a fragment from the fragmented image. The fragment is displayed at the intended resolution allowing the user to view a portion of the image at full size, as opposed to the whole image at a reduced size. The NP of the present invention allows the user to move from one fragment to another. An alternative embodiment utilizing a proxy is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7334508
Abstract: A tool for loosening or tightening screws. The tool has a number of shafts with screwdriver bits on their ends that are stored in elongated grooves that are parallel to the longitudial axis and circumferentally spaced around the handle. Each stored blade can be rotated separately out of the storage handle 180 degrees on a pivoting hinge into a housing head which locks the extended shafts in place for operation. The housing head can be rotated 360 degrees perpendicular to the elongated axis of the handle in order to accomadate each blade separately.

  • Publication number: 20070245314
Abstract: A solution (200) for collecting inventory information relating to complex resources is proposed. For this purpose, a data mover (285) interfaces with a common collector engine (210). The data mover registers (A3) itself as a listener for a selected resource class on behalf of every exploiter (265). The collector engine solves (A4) the correlations involving the selected resource class, as indicated in predefined discovery directories (235). Providers (225) adapted to discover inventory information about the correlated resource classes are periodically invoked (A5-A9), according to a scheduling plan defined in the same discovery directives. As soon as the providers for all the correlated resource classes have completed the discovery of the corresponding information (A10), the data mover is notified accordingly (A11). In response thereto, the data mover transfers (A13-A15) the discovered (delta) inventory information to the exploiter.

  • Publication number: 20070238083
Abstract: One provides (101) both a software-based learning management system that maintains and offers defined learning paths and auditable training histories that correspond to e-learning opportunities for specific learners as well as a software-based wikispace that is configured and arranged to permit substantially all visitors to create, edit, and publicly post candidate training content without preauthorization as to content. Specific learners are then allowed to access the wikispace to thereby facilitate development of wiki-based candidate training content, and incorporation of that wiki-based candidate training content is then automatically facilitated as at least one of these e-learning opportunities.
