  • Patent number: 7776175
Abstract: A method of sealing an attachment face of a MST device to a mounting surface on a support member, the attachment face having an aperture connected to a first fluid conduit, the attachment face having a second aperture connected to a second conduit, the method comprising the steps of: applying a thermosetting adhesive to the mounting surface; aligning the first aperture with at least part of the second aperture; pressing the MST device and the mounting surface together; and, curing the thermosetting adhesive; wherein, the thermosetting adhesive has a viscosity of between 100 centiPoise and 10,000,000 centiPoise. Using a thermosetting adhesive instead of a thermoplastic adhesive provides a far more reliable seal. The bond between the thermoplastic adhesive and the MST device surface is prone to thermal fatigue and leakage or outright failure.

  • Patent number: 7778779
Abstract: A method of identifying, screening, characterising or designing a chemical entity, which mimics or binds to FIH, is described. The method comprises comparing a structural model of FIH with a structural model for said chemical entity, wherein said structural model of FIH is derived from structural factors or structural coordinates determined by subjecting to X-ray diffraction measurements a crystal comprising FIH. Such chemical entities may be used in the treatment of a condition associated with increased or decreased HIF levels or activity.

  • Patent number: 7743521
Abstract: An all-in-one combination layout tool is provided for marking center lines for spacing studs, marking rip lines, marking cut lines for roof rafters and staircase stringers, and other purposes. The tool comprises a rectangular base plate, an elongate locator bar with a rounded pivot corner, and two connectors to connect the locator bar to the base plate in a variety of configurations. The base plate includes multiple “pivot” points for pivotally connecting the locator bar, two strategically-placed arcuate slots for marking or making angle cuts, and two strategically placed parallel slots for configuring the tool to mark or make rip cuts. Angle markings are provided on two adjacent edges of the base plate, and 1/16-inch markings are provided on the opposite adjacent edges. The base plate is planar and has no enlarged flange or lip that would hinder its use in laying out staircase stringers.
