    Abstract: A component of a slip assembly is formed by rolling sheet molding compound into a rolled charge. The rolled charge is positioned in a compression molding press and compressed to produce a molded element. The molded element is removed from the compression molding press and can be machined for use as the component of the slip assembly. The component can be a slip segment or can be a cylindrical body for the slip segment. The compound layers in the molded component can be oriented in a number of different orientations in the component and can increase the overall strength of the component.

    Abstract: A downhole tool, such as a composite bridge plug, has a packing element disposed on a mandrel of the tool adjacent an activating element, such as a cone and slip arrangement. The packing element includes a packer and at least one backup ring. The packer is composed of packing material and is compressible on the downhole tool at least in part due to the activating element. The at least one backup ring limits extrusion of the packer. The at least one backup ring is molded into the packing material at one end of the packer adjacent the activating element. Preferably, each end of the packer has at least two backup rings molded therein, and slots in the adjacent backup rings are preferably offset at the ends.

Due to improvements made to the power module, it is able to pass a temperature, humidity, and bias test at 80% of its rated voltage for at least 1000 hours.

    Abstract: System, computer-readable medium and method are provided for organizing and rendering 3D voxel models in a tree data structure. The system includes a display, a memory loaded with 3D voxel data arranged in a N3-tree data structure, and a processor that renders the 3D voxel data on the display. The N3-tree data structure includes a top node, one or more levels of middle nodes, and leaf nodes. Each of the top node and middle nodes includes 64 occupancy bits and 32 index bits. The 64 occupancy bits indicate an occupied (“1”) or empty (“0”) state of each of 64 subunits (subcubes or voxels) included in the node. The 32 index bits represent a pointer to a memory location where its occupied subunits are stored. Each of the leaf nodes represents an occupied voxel, and includes an index number that can be used to point to a memory location of at least one type of attribute value (color, normal, intensity, etc.) of the occupied voxel.

In particular, the insert's axis is preferably angled normal to the slip body's incline and the inclined surface of the cone.

The memory is loaded with the two sets of 3D voxel data arranged in a 64-tree data structure, wherein an occupied or empty state of each voxel is indicated by 1 bit. The processor executes a 3D voxel diffing algorithm including steps of: (i) aligning the first and second sets of 3D voxel data; (ii) making a one-to-one comparison between each voxel in the first set and a corresponding voxel in the second set to create a diff model that records differences found between the first and second sets; and (iii) displaying the content of the diff model on the display.

    Abstract: A heater for a liquid has a combustion chamber, a jacket for the liquid extending about the combustion chamber and a burner head assembly connected to the combustion chamber. The burner head assembly includes a housing having a burner mounted thereon and a hollow interior. A control module and a fan are mounted in the hollow interior, the fan being connected to an electric motor. A compressor and a fuel pump are mounted on the housing and are operatively connected to the electric motor. The control module may include controls for exercising components of the heater prior to combustion, thereby verifying operation of these components. Preferably there is a speed control for the motor, such as a closed loop speed control which regulates motor speed and accordingly output of the heater. Preferably there is a backup system using a lookup table in the event that the closed loop speed control fails.

The tool has a mandrel with a sealing element disposed thereon between uphole and downhole ends. Slip assemblies on the mandrel can be moved to engage the downhole tubular. The uphole assembly has inserts composed of ceramic material, and the downhole assembly has inserts composed of a metallic material. When the tool is used as a bridge plug, the uphole assembly supports the sealing element compressed, and the downhole assembly supports fluid pressure downhole of the tool. In one particular embodiment, the metallic material is a powdered metal material, such as a sintered-hardened powdered metal steel having a balance of iron, an admixture of carbon, and alloy components of molybdenum, chromium, and manganese.

Each data set has a plurality of entries, with each entry having a plurality of fields. For each pair of data sets, the computer system compares the values of fields in a first data set in the pair of data sets to the values of fields in a second data set in the pair of data sets, to identify fields having substantially similar sets of values. Given pairs of fields that have similar sets of values, the computer system measures entropy with respect to an intersection of the sets of values of the pair of fields. The computer system can recommend fields for a join operation between any pair of data sets in the plurality of data sets based on such statistical measures.
