Abstract: A process and system are provided for determining a most likely combination of characters. In particular, character data which includes information indicative of at least one handwritten character is obtained. The character data includes at least one set of segmentation points for the handwritten character. Then, a score can be provided for each particular character of a set of previously stored characters based on a comparison between the character data and the previously stored particular character. In addition, it is possible to compare visual aspects of the handwritten character to visual aspects of each of the previously stored characters for determining likely characters. Also, a Fisher Matching procedure can be used on the character data to ascertain the likely characters. A plurality of handwritten characters can include a first character that is connected to a second character of the handwritten characters via a ligature.

Abstract: A synchronous DRAM (SDRAM) terminates a write operation in response to detecting deactivation of a data strobe signal applied to it during the write operation. In one example, the SDRAM comprises a buffer circuit and an early write termination circuit. The buffer circuit is configured to sample input data responsive to a data strobe signal applied to the SDRAM during a write operation and direct the input data to one or more memory cells of the SDRAM for storing the input data. The early write termination circuit is configured to terminate the write operation at less than a programmed burst length by disabling access to one or more of the memory cells after storage of the sampled input data responsive to detecting deactivation of the data strobe signal.

Abstract: The present invention provides an ultrasound imaging system for forming 3D volume data of a target object, including a three-dimensional (3D) image providing unit for providing a 3D ultrasound image; a pre-processing unit for forming a number of two-dimensional (2D) images from the 3D ultrasound image and normalizing the 2D images to form normalized 2D images; an edge extraction unit for forming wavelet-transformed images of the normalized 2D images at a number of scales, the edge extraction unit further being configured to form edge images by averaging the wavelet-transformed images at a number of scales and threshold the edge images; a control point determining unit for determining control points by using a support vector machine (SVM) based on the normalized 2D images, the wavelet-transformed images and the thresholded edge images; and a rendering unit for forming 3D volume data of the target object by 3D rendering based on the control points.

The apparatus includes a power source; a compensator for compensating an input signal by adding the input signal to an offset value reciprocally proportional to a source voltage; a pulse width modulator for modulating an audio signal transmitted from the compensator; and an output stage for outputting the modulated audio signal. Accordingly, audio quality can be improved directly for a listener by compensating the input signal damaged by periodical voltage drops.

Abstract: A method processes a multiview videos of a scene, in which each video is acquired by a corresponding camera arranged at a particular pose, and in which a view of each camera overlaps with the view of at least one other camera. Side information for synthesizing a particular view of the multiview video is obtained in either an encoder or decoder. A synthesized multiview video is synthesized from the of multiview videos and the side information. A reference picture list is maintained for each current frame of each of the multiview videos, the reference picture indexes temporal reference pictures and spatial reference pictures of the acquired multiview videos and the synthesized reference pictures of the synthesized multiview video. Each current frame of the multiview videos is predicted according to reference pictures indexed by the associated reference picture list.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the computing method and Huffman computing circuits for improving the correctness and efficiency of the nonlinear inverse quantization when the MPEG-2 AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) or MPEG-4 AAC algorithm which is used as an audio compression algorithm in multi-channel high-quality audio systems is implemented on programmable processors. The fire alarm system includes a fire detector, one or more extinguisher supports, a self-diagnosis remote controller and a controller. The fire detector detects a fire, transmits a fire signal, and exchanges radio signals. Each of the extinguisher supports internally includes an alarm sound emission device and a fog lantern device. The self-diagnosis remote controller transmits a self-diagnosis signal to check the operation of the fire detector, the extinguisher supports and the controller. The controller includes a setting means and a speaker. The controller dials the telephone numbers of designated telephones through an exchange and transmits recorded fire alarm messages to interested persons.

The vent portion is formed spaced away from the cooling fan by a distance of about 6-10 mm. The distance of about 6-10 mm between the cooling fan and the over reduces the fluid flow noise.

Abstract: There is provided a remote monitoring system, which includes: means for recognizing a visitor; means for obtaining video/voice data from the recognized visitor; a controlling means for checking whether the visitor is an intruder on the basis of the obtained video/audio data; means for transmitting the obtained video/audio data to a security company if the visitor is an intruder. Therefore, it is possible to accurately identify an intruder using video/audio data of a visitor and swiftly take measures by adding a monitoring function to a video apparatus having a PVR function.
