  • Patent number: 6975733
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for embedding a watermark into a black and white or color digital image [D(x)]. Basically the inventive method comprises the steps of transforming the digital image using a wavelet transform [WC(y)], transforming a watermark using discrete cosine transform (DCT), integrating the wavelet-transformed digital image with the DCT-transformed watermark [DW(x)+WC(y)] to insert the watermark into the image, and generating the watermarked image using inverse wavelet transform [D(x)?]. For color images, RGB mode is converted into YIQ mode using a conversion matrix and the wavelet transform is applied to the Y-, I-, Q-values. This inventive digital watermarking of a color image is found to be highly robust against lossy compression and other image processing operations, compared to conventionally known methods which are known to be unsuitable for watermarking color images.

  • Patent number: 6876705
Abstract: The invention is related to methods and apparatus that recover usable video data from partially corrupted data. Embodiments inspect corrupted data packets and identify the location or locations of an error, whether the corrupted data packet contains data expected to be error-free, and whether the error-free data should be used. Decoding of a packet in both the forward direction and the backward direction can be used to locate a position of an error. Intra-coded macroblocks can also be recovered. A decoder can elect to use or to drop an intra-coded macroblock recovered from a corrupted data packet according to further criteria that is applied to the recovered intra-coded macroblock. One embodiment inspects video bitstream data that has been encoded with an optional data partitioning feature enabled, and retrieves specified data in areas of a corrupted packet that are expected to be free from error.

  • Publication number: 20050046309
Abstract: The present invention relates to a micro-compressor equipped with plurality of compression means comprising a vibrating plate forming the outer wall of the pressure chamber, inlet valve and outlet valve attached to the vibrating plate. The compression means are operated by a certain number of piezo-actuators that are attached to the vibrating plate, inlet valve and outlet valve and perform the function of indraft, compression and exhaustion of working fluid. The piezo-actuators enable the swift operation and precise control in the micro-refrigerator with the size of semiconductor chip. The compression means do not alter the flowing direction of working fluid and the openings for the indraft and exhaustion of working fluid can be aligned in a straight line. As a result, plurality of compression means can be arranged in parallel to maximize the compression capacity.

  • Publication number: 20040047410
Abstract: A method and apparatus for compensating for phase errors of a digital signal are provided. An equalizer compensates for an amplitude distortion of a received signal caused by a channel and outputs an equalized signal after a first predetermined delay time elapses. A first multiplying means complex multiplies the equalized signal by a phase corrected signal and outputs a first multiplied value. A first multiplexing means selectively outputs either the received signal or the first multiplied value based upon whether the first predetermined time has elapsed. A phase compensating means sets an initial value of a local oscillator based upon an average value of phase errors of the received signal before the first predetermined time elapses, and removes phase errors existing in the first multiplied value after the first predetermined time elapses.
