Abstract: Improved methods and apparatuses for treatment of fecal and urinary incontinence are provided. Methods of placing mesh support strips adjacent the urethra or rectum (as in positions of support for levator ani muscles) through minimal number of incisions, with minimal amount of mesh, are disclosed. Methods combining such mesh support strip placement with injecting proliferative agents for support are disclosed.

Abstract: A system and related methods of use for selectively vaporizing targeted tissue. The system includes a laser capable of emitting a particular wavelength of laser light, a biocompatible colorant selected to absorb the particular wavelength and an injection device for tinting targeted tissue with the biocompatible colorant. The use of a laser tuned to selectively vaporize tinted, targeted tissue is especially suited to treatment of a wide range of medical conditions including effecting minimally invasive treatment of male reproductive organs and/or female reproductive organs to effect contraception, sterilization or fibroid removal.

Abstract: The pulse generator comprises: a delay line arranged to receive a digital input signal and to produce a plurality of delay line output signals; first and second pulse generator blocks comprising logic circuitry arranged to generate a plurality of successive first output pulses in response to said different delay line output signals; and pulse combiner circuitry arranged to combine said first output pulses to produce second output pulses. The first pulse generator block is arranged to be responsive to rising edges of said input signal, and the second pulse generator blocks is responsive to falling edges of said input signal. Thus, both rising and falling edges of said input signal are used to create pulses. The device can be used in impulse radio transmitters and receivers.

Abstract: An independent, removable device which is capable of being attached to the leg above the ankle and to the external side of the footwear in a variety of ways prevents ankle injuries. The device comprises a strap (1 in every figure) which embraces the leg of the wearer, just over and around the ankle. At the ends of the strap there is a suitable system to close the strap. The upper end of a rigid or semirigid sheet (2 in every figure) is pivotally connected to the strap (1). The lower end of the sheet is inserted in a little box (4 in every figure), which is fitted to the side of the shoe. The connection of the sheet to the shoe also might be done through a screw which would be screwed on the shoe sole (8 in FIG.3).

Abstract: A double barrelled firearm includes first and second parallel barrels attached to a casing which includes a pair of spaced parallel arms. A firing lever is pivotable about a bearing extending between the spaced arms from a first non-firing position to second firing positions successively inwardly of the casing. A bolt is slidably mounted on the casing at a location rearwardly of the barrels. The bolt has first and second firing pins aligned with the first and second barrels. The first and second firing pins have extending therefrom respective first and second stops of different lengths. The first and second firing pins are urged toward the first and second barrels respectively. The firing lever has on a first end thereof a guard which, when the firing lever is in the first non-firing position thereof, acts on the first and second stops to maintain the first and second firing pins spaced from the first and second barrels, against the force of the urging means.
