  • Patent number: 8065353
Abstract: A customer search terminal system may be configured to accept customer product searches and identify corresponding products and product information. A method for determining the efficacy of the customer search terminal may include receiving customer usage information including data related to customer usage of a customer search terminal and may also include receiving product sales information including data related to products sold at a point-of-sale terminal. The method may further include generating customer purchase behavior information by correlating the received customer search terminal usage information with the received product sales information when a product is sold at the point-of-sale terminal within a prescribed time period relative to a search for the product on the customer search terminal.

  • Publication number: 20100076861
Abstract: A computer-implemental method of transacting a sealed bid competition has deadline-assurance process which in part upholds the integrity of the sealed bid competition. In a sealed bid competition, a buyer originates a “request for bid” communication that specifies bid items as well as includes a parameter of deadline. Participating vendors respond with “response” communications that contain substantive content presumptively responsive to the “request for bid” communication. The object of a sealed bid competition is to keep everyone, including especially the buyer, blind to the bid responses of everyone else until after the deadline. The deadline-integrity process has the buyer either precluded from access to the “response” communications until the deadline or else has the buyer's activity with accessing the “response” communications is logged so that such log record can thereafter disclose if the buyer voluntarily restrained itself from accessing the “response” communications until after the deadline.

  • Publication number: 20080311377
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for producing a polyolefin foam having a higher temperature resistance and comprising a polypropylene and/or polyethylene, which process comprises first mixing and melting one or more polyolefins having a melting range, measured by means of differential scanning calorimetry at a heating rate of 10° C./min, within the range of 95 to 170° C. and optionally other polyolefins and/or additives so as to form a homogeneous mixture having a melt temperature within the range of 120 to 160° C., melting said homogeneous mixture in an extruder, mixing said molten mixture with a physical foaming agent and subsequently cooling said mixture so that the molten mixture transfers from the liquid phase into a semi-crystalline phase, and expanding the cooled mixture into a foam. The invention further relates to an insulation foam produced with said process.

  • Publication number: 20070143116
Abstract: A machine readable storage can include a set of instructions for load balancing. The storage can include a plug-in receptor of a load balancer. The plug-in receptor can be compliant with a known industry standard and can be is associated with a two or more load balancing algorithms. The load balancer can utilize selected ones of the load balancing algorithms to determine which of two or more voice servers are to handle incoming speech processing requests. Selected ones of the load balancing algorithms can include a speech utilization algorithm. The speech utilization algorithm can calculate a speech utilization score for at least one of the voice servers based upon speech processing specific factors.
