  • Patent number: 10875955
Abstract: In various embodiments, the present invention is directed to new low cost initiator compositions for use with the production of well-defined telechelic PIBs (by LC+P of isobutylene). In various other embodiments, the present invention is directed to methods for using these novel compositions as initiators for isobutylene (IB) and other cationically polymerizable monomers, such as styrene and its derivatives. In still other embodiments, the present invention is directed to structurally new, allyl (and chlorine) telechelic PIBs formed from these new initiator compositions and their derivatives (in particular, hydroxyl telechelic PIB and amine telechelic PIB). In yet other embodiments, the present invention is directed to structurally new polyurethanes, polyureas, and polyurethane ureas made using telechelic PIBs formed from these new initiator compositions.

  • Publication number: 20200403951
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems, non-transitory computer-readable media, and methods for generating and maintaining group messaging threads associated with ephemeral content. For instance, the disclosed systems can facilitate the creation of ephemeral content including a customizable group messaging graphical element associated with the ephemeral content the enables users to join a group messaging thread associated with the ephemeral content. In addition, the disclosed systems can generate user requests to join the group messaging thread based on user interaction with a group messaging graphical element within ephemeral content and can present the requests to the creator of the ephemeral content. Accordingly, in various embodiments, the disclosed systems can facilitate group messaging threads between creators of ephemeral content and users that view the ephemeral content via associated group messaging graphical elements.

  • Publication number: 20200271083
Abstract: A heating system for an engine includes a heater and a heat exchanger. The heater increases the temperature of an engine coolant and circulates the engine coolant into the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is located with an oil pan. The heat exchanger received the heated engine coolant and transfers heat from the engine coolant into engine lubricant in the oil pan. The engine coolant flows from the heat exchanger into an engine block of the engine. The engine coolant transfers heat to the engine block and flows back to the heater to be heated again.

Abstract: A vent cover assembly is disclosed, such as for a floating or fixed floor. Example vent cover assemblies may include a support plate configured to be secured over a duct, and a flush mount vent cover. The support plate may define a plurality of first airflow apertures configured to permit airflow from the duct through the support plate. The vent cover may define a second plurality of airflow apertures that are positioned in the vent cover such that the second plurality of airflow apertures are aligned with the first airflow apertures when the vent cover is in a first installed position overlying the support plate. The vent cover may obstruct the first airflow apertures when the vent cover is in a second installed position overlying the support plate.

  • Publication number: 20200131294
Abstract: A polystyrene-g-(polyisobutylene-b-polystyrene) is taught. The polystyrene-g-(polyisobutylene-b-polystyrene) is synthesized by first providing a polystyrene backbone. Once the polystyrene backbone is provided, the polystyrene backbone is acetylated to provide acetyl groups on the polystyrene backbone. Next, the acetyl groups are converted to —C(CH3)2OH groups. Finally, the living polymerization of isobutylene is initiated, which is then followed by the living block polymerization of styrene. A polymer network of polystyrene-g-(polyisobutylene-b-polystyrene)s is also provided.
