  • Publication number: 20220180458
Abstract: Computing devices, systems, and methods for automatically prompting a foreign currency transaction by detecting a trip end condition associated with a registered user with respect to travel to a foreign location associated with a foreign currency. The methods and system may further determine that the registered user has a remaining foreign currency balance, and, as a result, may identify and send to the registered user's mobile device at least one option for using the remaining foreign currency balance. The at least one option may be a merchant offer from a merchant located in the area of the mobile device or may include an option to exchange the foreign currency for another currency. The trip end condition may be detected by determining that the registered user and/or user's mobile device is at an international departure location. The currency exchange may be with another registered user.

  • Patent number: 11339511
Abstract: Stabilizing a fabric layer and simultaneously laminating a fabric to a bulky and cushioning backing layer using multiple internal adhesive layers placed within the fabric layer forms a composite textile. The melt index, weight and chemical compatibility of the adhesive layers versus the adjacent fabric sub-strata and the backing layer are adjusted to achieve the desired penetration of molten adhesive, mechanical bonding and chemical bonding. An optional external adhesive layer with a low melt index can be added between the fabric layer and the backing layer to facilitate attachment to a highly porous backing.

  • Publication number: 20220128483
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for detecting anomalies in an additively manufactured part. An energy source generates a signal forming an optical beam for creating a melt pool in a layer of feedstock material being selectively fused to make a part in an additive manufacturing operation. A sensor is configured to receive a signal reflected from the melt pool. The reflected signal forms a thermal signal indicative of a temperature of the feedstock material at a known location on a layer of the feedstock material while the feedstock material is being fused at the known location. A controller receives and analyzes data relating to the received signal to determine if an anomaly exists at the known location.

  • Publication number: 20210374351
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for generating queries suitable for evaluating graph comprehension capability. Embodiments of the present disclosure are based on the Sentence Verification Technique (SVT), an empirically validated framework for measuring an individual's comprehension of prose material. Compared to ad hoc methods for testing graph comprehension, embodiments of the present disclosure are less subjective, require less manual effort and subject matter expertise, and address the essential features of a given graph: values and relationships depicted, frames of reference, and style attributes. Embodiments of the present disclosure combat superficial comprehension by testing what the reader has encoded, as opposed to testing the reader's ability at visual recall or ability to look up data without reaching real comprehension.

  • Patent number: 11132653
Abstract: Techniques are described for using a supplemental data layer of a real time payments channel to send data. For example, an entity may request a transaction with another entity, and the transaction may be performed using a channel that includes a supplemental data layer. Supplemental data, in addition to the data for the transaction itself, may be communicated using the supplemental data layer to entities involved in the transaction, and/or to third parties. The supplemental data may be sent in real time with respect to the sending of the data for the transaction. In some instances, supplemental data layer is present in one or both directions in the two-way communications between the entities involved in the transaction. The supplemental data layer can be leveraged to provide additional information and/or services to a user involved in the transaction.
