  • Publication number: 20050199489
Abstract: An apparatus and a method of depositing a catalytic layer comprising at least one metal selected from the group consisting of noble metals, semi-noble metals, alloys thereof, and combinations thereof in sub-micron features formed on a substrate. Examples of noble metals include palladium and platinum. Examples of semi-noble metals include cobalt, nickel, and tungsten. The catalytic layer may be deposited by electroless deposition, electroplating, or chemical vapor deposition. In one embodiment, the catalytic layer may be deposited in the feature to act as a barrier layer to a subsequently deposited conductive material. In another embodiment, the catalytic layer may be deposited over a barrier layer. In yet another embodiment, the catalytic layer may be deposited over a seed layer deposited over the barrier layer to act as a “patch” of any discontinuities in the seed layer. Once the catalytic layer has been deposited, a conductive material, such as copper, may be deposited over the catalytic layer.

  • Publication number: 20050179467
Abstract: Aspects for increased noise immunity for clocking signals in high speed digital systems are described. The aspects include buffering a differential clock signal with a single buffer circuit for a plurality of load circuits and configuring the single buffer circuit to adjust to alterations in the number of load circuits receiving the differential clock signal. The configuring achieves a constant bandwidth and voltage level for the clock signal output while adjusting to alterations in the number of load circuits.

  • Patent number: 6928431
Abstract: A system, method and article of manufacture are provided for accessing data independent of the particular manner in which the data is physically represented. In one embodiment, a plurality of data repository abstractions provide different logical views of the same underlying data repository. The plurality of data repository abstractions may each be associated with different users, thereby exposing a different set of data to each user. A runtime component performs translation of abstract queries into a form that can be used against a particular physical data representation.

  • Patent number: 6816865
Abstract: Aspects of the present embodiments provide an eCommerce environment adapted to accept and process various message types (e.g. cXML and mXML). In general, requests are provided from a requesting entity to an application hosting entity. Data from incoming requests are mapped to a format understandable to an appropriate application(s). Responses from the application(s) are then mapped into a response format acceptable by the requesting entity. To this end, embodiments disclosed herein provide processes for the development and execution of a data driven process for mapping multiple request/response message pairs to a single application interface or set of application interfaces. In one embodiment, these processes are driven by development time and run time documents that describe a development time view of the message pairs and the application Interfaces as well as runtime instructions for providing the mappings, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20040193567
Abstract: A database operation mechanism includes the capability of specifying a predefined database operation as a source of data for a different database operation. When the different database operation needs to be performed, the database operation mechanism determines whether the different database operation can use a predefined database operation as a data source. If so, the predefined database operation is specified as the source of data for the different database operation. If the different database operation cannot use a predefined database operation as a data source, the database operation mechanism determines whether the different database operation can use a modified form of a predefined database operation as a data source. If so, the different database operation may use the modified predefined database operation as a source of data.

  • Publication number: 20040190724
Abstract: A global key control mechanism provides a single point of overall control for key generation, but portions of the key generation and/or allocation tasks may be delegated to client computer systems, thereby reducing network traffic. The global key control mechanism may download a client key generation mechanism on one or more client computer systems, and may allocate a block of keys to the client key generation mechanism. Requests for keys may then be routed to the client key generation mechanism, which can generate and/or allocate keys within the block of keys that the global key control mechanism allocated to it. When the block of keys is used up, the client key generation mechanism may request another block from the global key control mechanism. The preferred embodiments also include the capability of downloading a client key generation mechanism with an associated block of keys once the requests from one or more client applications exceed a predetermined threshold.
