  • Patent number: 7155945
Abstract: A lock including a frame, a handle operated latch bolt, a handle shaft, a latch bolt actuating mechanism and a mechanism for locking the handle shaft. The latch bolt locking mechanism includes a locking lever which is fixed with respect to the handle shaft and arranged to cooperate with a stop element on the frame. The latch bolt locking mechanism further includes an electromagnet which moves the locking lever with respect to the handle shaft or the stop element with respect to the frame so that the locking lever can be unlocked and locked behind the stop element. The locking device, which is either formed by the locking lever or by the stop element, is movable by the electromagnet in a direction forming an angle greater than about 45°, preferably greater than about 65°, with a flat plane extending at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the handle shaft. A more reliable locking and unlocking of the handle shaft can be produced.

  • Publication number: 20060290148
Abstract: Element (1) for opening and/or closing doors, gates or windows, comprising a first part (2) designed to operate a closing mechanism by rotation, a second rotary part (3) designed to transfer a rotary motion to the first part (2), the rotary knob (1) being provided with one or several push buttons (4), so that when at least one push button (4) is pushed, the rotary motion of the second part (3) is transferred to the first part (2). With this element (1), two operations have to be performed, namely pushing a push button and performing a rotary motion of the element (1) in order to open a door and suchlike, because of which it will become practically impossible for children to open a door by accident.

  • Publication number: 20060103142
Abstract: The self-latching device comprises a frame (11, 17, 21, 24, 31) arranged to be mounted on the hinged closure member, in particular on a gate, a latch bolt (7) movably mounted on the frame in a horizontal direction between a latching position and a retracted position, a latch bolt spring (70) arranged to bias the latch bolt (7) into the latching position, and operator means (10) mounted on top of the frame so as to be operable from both sides of the closure member (2) and connected by means of a latch bolt operating mechanism to the latch bolt (7) for moving it from the latching to the retracted position. The self-latching device is especially suited for being mounted in a vertical tubular member of or fixed to a safety gate around an area which is dangerous for children, in particular around a swimming pool area.

  • Publication number: 20050262905
Abstract: A lock that includes a frame which is arranged to be secured on the outside against a first side of a tubular member of a hinged gate and at least one bolt which is arranged to extend through the tubular member, out of a second side thereof, into the keeper device. The keeper device is mounted on a fixed member, which is usually a pole arranged in the ground. In order to make it more difficult to force the gate open by inserting, for example, a crowbar between the gate and the fixed member, the lock and keeper set comprises a security device arranged to prevent the gate and the fixed member from being forced apart sufficiently to disengage the bolt from the keeper device. This security device includes a first security piece arranged to be secured to the frame of the lock and to project from the second side of the tubular member to extend, in the closed state of the gate, behind a second security piece on the keeper device.

  • Patent number: 6931897
Abstract: The lock comprises a frame (5), at least one bolt (4), in particular a latch bolt which projects in a predetermined direction out of the frame, a bolt operating mechanism (26, 31, 32) and means (20, 24) for mounting at least one hand operated actuating element (21) for said bolt operating mechanism on the frame so that this actuating element can rotate on the frame according to a rotation axis (25) extending in particular perpendicular to said predetermined direction. The bolt (4) comprises a shaft portion (38) and at least one laterally projecting lock wing (39) and is rotatably mounted on the frame according to a further rotation axis (37) extending in said predetermined direction, the bolt operating mechanism being arranged to rotate the bolt (4) between a first angular orientation, wherein the lock wing (39) of the bolt is in the locking position, and a second angular orientation, wherein the lock wing of the bolt is in the unlocking position.

  • Patent number: 6684669
Abstract: A fastener device, in particular for a door or a gate, more particularly a double door, including a lock including a frame with a carrier plate and an edge plate, the frame being arranged to be mounted with the edge plate against an upright, at least one bolt slidably mounted on the frame between a retracted and a projecting position and extending in its projecting position with a distal extremity over a predetermined distance out of the edge plate such as to extend through and project with a portion out of the upright when the lock is mounted against this upright, and an actuation mechanism arranged to move the bolt from its retracted to its projecting position and vice versa and including an operating member acting on an abutment element on the bolt, which abutment element is separated by a predetermined length of the bolt from the distal extremity thereof.
