  • Patent number: 10902714
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for an alert system for reducing a risk of an adverse health event in a firefighter or first responder. In one example, the alert system may comprise a wearable sensor and an alerting device, where the alerting device may be operable to receive physiological and/or environmental data from the wearable sensor and where the alerting device may be further operable to issue an alert based on the received physiological and/or environmental data. In some examples, the alert may be a function of one or more personalized thresholds for evaluating a stress level of the firefighter or first responder. • Publication number: 20200408637
Abstract: A system for measuring a polarization extinction ratio (PER) using a reference master test jumper (MTJ) is disclosed. The system may include an optical source to transmit an optical signal via an optical fiber. The system may also include a device under test (DUT) communicatively coupled to the optical source via the optical fiber to receive the optical signal from the optical source. The system may also include an optical measurement component communicatively coupled to the device under test (DUT). In some examples, the optical fiber may be configured or initialized to be a reference master test jumper (MTJ) that minimizes inherent polarization extinction ratio (PER) of the optical fiber when measuring a polarization extinction ratio (PER) during a measurement action.

  • Publication number: 20200125235
Abstract: The construction of virtual-reality environments is more efficient with adjustable virtual user input devices that accommodate user physical limitations. Adjustable virtual user input devices can be adjusted along pre-established channels, which can be anchored to specific points in virtual space, including a user's position. Adjustable virtual user input devices can be bent in a vertical direction, bent along a horizontal plane, or other like bending, skewing, or warping adjustments. Elements, such as individual keys of a virtual keyboard, can be anchored to specific points on a host virtual user input device, such as the virtual keyboard itself, and can be bent, skewed, or warped in accordance with the adjustment being made to the host virtual user input device. The adjustability of virtual user input devices can be controlled through handles, which can be positioned to appear as if they are protruding from designated extremities of virtual user input devices.

  • Patent number: 10573296
Abstract: A synthetic training data item comprising a first sequence of symbols that represent a synthetic sentence output by a simulator is received. The synthetic training data item is processed using a machine learning model, which outputs a second sequence of symbols that represent the synthetic sentence. The synthetic training data item is modified by replacing the first sequence of symbols with the second sequence of symbols. A statistically significant mismatch exists between the first sequence of symbols and a third sequence of symbols that would be output by an acoustic model that processes a set of acoustic features that represent an utterance of the synthetic sentence, and no statistically significant mismatch exists between the second sequence of symbols and the third sequence of symbols. The modified synthetic training data item may be used to train a second machine learning model that processes data output by the acoustic model.
