  • Patent number: 7305639
Abstract: A method, an apparatus and computer instructions are provided for specifying multiple voltage domains of a signal and macros in a processor chip and validating physical implementation and interconnections of the signal and macros. A set of attributes is provided for designs to define multiple voltage domains of a signal and macros in a processor chip. A first validation mechanism is then provided to validate that no electrical or logical errors created by logical connections between macros as defined by the set of attributes. A translation mechanism is provided to translate logical voltage description to a physical netlist for designers to connect powers to macros and signals. A second validation mechanism is provided to validate physical implementation adhere to designers' intent according to the set of attributes defined in the logical design.

  • Patent number: 7266113
Abstract: The method and system allows for predicting the capacity of a data network to have voice over IP communications implemented thereon. Information corresponding to network data transmission traffic is collected. Information corresponding to telephone call traffic on the PSTN for an organization is also collected. A determination is made about what load the telephone call traffic would impose on the network if implemented as voice over IP traffic. This is compared to the network capacity and it is determined from this comparison whether the network is capable of having conventional legacy telephone traffic implemented thereon as voice over IP.

  • Patent number: 6968299
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for finding a triangle mesh that interpolates a set of points obtained from a scanning system. A ball-pivoting algorithm computes a triangle mesh interpolating a given point cloud. The disclosed ball-pivoting algorithm triangulates a set of points by “rolling” a ball of radius r on the point cloud. The points are surface samples acquired with multiple range scans of an object. The ball-pivoting algorithm starts with a seed triangle, and pivots the ball of a given radius, r, around an edge of the triangle. During the pivoting operation, the ball revolves around the edge while keeping in contact with the edge's endpoints. The ball pivots until it touches another scan point, forming another triangle. The ball-pivoting operation continues until all reachable edges have been tried, and then starts from another seed triangle, until all scan points have been considered.

  • Patent number: 6900525
Abstract: A semiconductor package to which a potential difference is applied has two or more of the components thereof bound together using a filler metal. The filler metal is a solid solution structure in which the metallic components are atomically dispersed, and may comprise an alloy of gold, silver and copper. A preferred form of the filler metal comprises 60Au20Ag20Cu. Such filler metals in accordance with the invention provide the advantages of silver-based filler metals without the silver migration that leads to eventual shorting of the semiconductor package. When water condenses to form a continuous layer thereof within the semiconductor package due to moisture seeping into the package and temperature changes, the silver within the filler metal does not ionize, and therefore a buildup of silver deposits and eventual shorting of the package does not occur.
