  • Publication number: 20090133399
Abstract: A turbocharger system for use with an engine having a braking mode of operation is disclosed. The turbocharger system may have a turbocharger with variable geometry, and a sensor situated to generate a signal indicative of a turbocharger speed. The turbocharger system may also have a controller in communication with the turbocharger and the sensor. The controller may be configured to vary the geometry of the turbocharger during the engine's braking mode of operation to increase a backpressure of the engine. The controller may also be configured to vary the geometry of the turbocharger to reduce the backpressure when the signal indicates a speed of the turbocharger within an amount of a desired speed.

  • Publication number: 20090116707
Abstract: Locations of the origins of “discrete events,” e.g., photons or other units of radiant energy are acquired from a specimen with reference to a scan frame or other region of interest of the specimen. The location of origin of a discrete event can be determined from the corresponding location datum as derived from a scan-drive signal, a positional feed-back signal, or by a point in time during a unit of sampling time (“image-acquisition period”) at which the event is detected. A probability-density function (PDF) is associated with the detected locations. Summing or other processing of the PDFs is performed to produce imageable data. From the data, images can be produced that require fewer discrete events to converge to an ideal density distribution associated with an image feature than required by pixel-based binning methods. Stored data can be mapped into pixels or voxels of a display or otherwise processed, including post hoc processing.

  • Publication number: 20090108163
Abstract: A decorative miniature sled gift card holder includes a deck, runners positioned beneath the deck, a gift card retention device, and a hanging device, with which the holder may be hung. The use of various types of sleds, such as sleds and sleighs with runners attached to the underside of the deck, as well as toboggans which incorporate wood runners on the underside of the deck, is contemplated. The gift card retention device includes at least a pair of vertical extensions affixed to opposite sides of the upper surface of the deck, which provide lateral alignment of a gift card on the deck. It may also include a stop attached to the upper surface at one end of the deck and horizontal extensions coupled directly to the vertical extensions, which provides longitudinal positioning of the card in one direction and within a horizontal plane overlying the deck, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20090107869
Abstract: A decorative gift card holder is provided for presenting and displaying gift cards, whether of the magnetic stripe or smart card varieties. The gift card holder includes a transparent, fluid-filled chamber in which insoluble white “snow” particles having a density greater than the fluid are trapped. The chamber has a card retention housing within the fluid-filled chamber that is sealed from the latter, and has an access slot at the bottom of the chamber through which a gift card may be inserted into the card retention housing. Once fully inserted, the card can be seen through the water and snow particles. A sheet metal or injection molded polymeric plastic base, which snaps onto a grooved lower projection of the chamber, retains the gift card within the slot, and also provides a stable base for displaying the gift card holder in an upright position.

  • Publication number: 20090071451
Abstract: An engine system is disclosed. The engine system has an engine block having at least one combustion chamber and at least partially defining a crankcase. The engine system also has an inlet conduit connecting a compressor of a turbocharger with the at least one combustion chamber. The engine system further has an exhaust conduit connecting a turbine of the turbocharger with the combustion chamber and a ventilation conduit connecting the crankcase with the exhaust conduit. The engine system also has a controller in communication with the turbocharger, the controller being configured to adjust the geometry of the turbocharger to maintain a pressure of the crankcase lower than a pressure of the inlet conduit.

  • Publication number: 20090069752
Abstract: An outer needle cover for a pen needle assembly is provided with a breakaway flange. Prior to use, the flange is connected to a body of the outer cover. The flange has a reduced cross sectional thickness portion that facilitates separation of the flange from the outer cover, thereby reducing the outer diameter of the outer cover. The reduced outer diameter of the outer cover allows the outer cover to be received by a pen cap of an existing injector device.

  • Publication number: 20090069753
Abstract: A pen needle hub and cover for a pen needle assembly that provides tactile and/or audible indicia of proper attachment between the hub of the pen needle and the pen is provided. Such indicia substantially prevent under- and over-torquing of the pen needle. The tactile indicia may include a user sensing a wave of a torque of peak value followed by a torque of lesser value.

  • Publication number: 20090025240
Abstract: Optimizing pedal angle for a cyclist is accomplished with a template having a central body with an aperture for positioning over the lateral condyle in a cyclist's knee. A fist alignment arm extends from the central body and incorporates an alignment indicia for positioning between the knee and hip of the cyclist. A second alignment arm extends from the central body at a predetermined angle with respect to the first alignment arm and employs an angular alignment indicia for relative placement over a malleolus bone of an ankle of the cyclist.

  • Publication number: 20080302426
Abstract: A system for enabling a distribution of fluids includes a backplane and at least two component bases. Each component base has a first flange segment on one side and a second flange segment on an opposite side. Each of the first flange segment and the second flange segment has through holes formed therein. Fasteners secure the two component bases to the backplane. The fasteners extending through the through holes formed in the first flange segment of a first component base and through holes formed in the second flange segment of a second component base and into the backplane. Methods of assembling a distribution system are further provided.
