  • Publication number: 20040098758
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to methods for generating plants having altered phenotypes, and to plants so generated and parts of these plants. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method for modifying a plant so as to produce a plant exhibiting an altered phenotype. Particularly useful altered phenotypes contemplated by the present invention include plants having altered tissue architecture. The present invention further contemplates genetic sequences capable of facilitating the modification of a phenotype of a plant and to sequences complementary thereto and to derivatives of the sequences. Plants and parts of plants, such as flowering and reproductive parts including seeds, also form part of the present invention. The ability to modify the phenotype of a plant may be useful for, inter alia, producing plants with more highly desired characteristics, such as delayed flowering, increased lateral branching, delayed senescence and the like.

  • Patent number: 6691364
Abstract: A vehicle mounted broom that has a modular construction, improved sweeping action and versatile mounting capabilities. The broom has brush strips and integral channels formed in a bottom side of the housings that reduce greatly or eliminate rocking of the brush strips with respect to the housing to which they are removably mounted. The main housing is extruded from aluminum.

  • Publication number: 20030184947
Abstract: This device is used to discharge static electricity painlessly prior to touching an object. The device places a resistive load in the circuit lowering the rate (voltage and current) static discharges from the users body into an object. This is done by pressing touch point (A) which is connected to the object. The device can be temporary attached using magnet or sticker. The device can also by permanently attached with adhesives.

  • Publication number: 20030160497
Abstract: Provided is a method and control system for a plurality of passenger seat belt mechanisms for appropriately securing and protecting passengers. The control system enables the flight crew to monitor and remotely control the locking and unlocking of passenger seat restraint mechanisms, thereby controlling the number of passengers, at any given time, having access to the aircraft cabin during flight. This control system is provided with a mechanism for collectively and selectively locking and unlocking the seat restraint mechanisms. The control system is capable of detecting and signaling the current state of a seat restraint mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20020179750
Abstract: A spreader assembly for spreading a material and for mounting to a bed of a truck is disclosed. The assembly includes a hopper and a frame having an upper rail for supporting the hopper in the bed of the truck. The frame includes a pair of front and rear posts extending downwardly from the upper rail and an upper rail extending in a cantilevered fashion from the rear posts to support the outlet spout outside the bed of the truck. A quick-release connector releasably engages the frame for preventing longitudinal movement within the bed of the truck. A spinner is rotatably attached and is moveable between an operating position and a storage position. The hopper includes a lower portion having a bottom with a first slanted portion having a first slope and a second slanted portion having a second slope with the first slope being different than the second slope.

  • Patent number: 6422490
Abstract: A rear mounted spreader having a horizontal auger. The spreader is ideally suited to spread bulk salt and sand, but can effectively be used to spread any spreadable material. The spreader is mounted to a vehicle and the auger is generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. The spreader includes a flow plate to facilitate proper material flow. The spreader also includes a vehicle-mounted control that can independently control the auger and spinner and can control the vibrator.
