  • Publication number: 20180341265
Abstract: Techniques and examples pertaining to vehicle water wading safety are described. A processor implementable to a vehicle approaching a waterbody may receive data related to the waterbody from one or more above-water or under-water sensors. The processor may determine a top surface and a bottom profile of the waterbody, and calculate one or more critical trajectories of water-sensitive components of the vehicle if the vehicle is to wade through the waterbody by traversing the bottom profile. The processor may then determine the wading safety based on the critical trajectories and the top surface of the waterbody. The processor may further determine a wading route, and autonomously drive the vehicle to wade the waterbody via the optimal wading route.

  • Publication number: 20180204398
Abstract: Techniques and examples pertaining to vehicle sensor health monitoring are described. A processor of a road-side station may receive first data from a vehicle and receive second data from one or more sensors associated with the road-side station. The processor may compare the first data and the second data. In response to a result of the comparing indicating a difference between the first data and the second data, the processor may generate a report.

  • Publication number: 20180176752
Abstract: In certain embodiments, carrier-specific configuration of a user device may be facilitated based on pre-stored information for multiple carriers. In some embodiments, a user device may store information for limited access (that allows the user device to obtain carrier-specific parameters from carrier networks). During activation, the user device may select one of the carrier networks on which the user device is to be configured to operate. Responsive to the selection, the user device may provide, to a carrier-side computer system on the selected carrier network, a request for limited access to the selected carrier network for configuring the user device, wherein the request comprises the stored access information that allows the user device to obtain carrier-specific parameters via the selected carrier network. Responsive to the limited access being granted, the user device may obtain a configuration package from the carrier-side computer system comprising parameters for configuring the user device.

  • Publication number: 20180170180
Abstract: A vehicle controller determines likelihood of downshifting, such as by detecting braking and clutch disengagement. In response, the vehicle controller determines a desired angular velocity for the engine for a gear lower than a current gear. A tachometer display is updated to indicate the current angular velocity of the engine and the desired angular velocity. A difference between current and desired angular velocities is determined and fill in a region of the tachometer display, such as a sector between needles indicating current and desired angular velocities or most or all of a surface of the tachometer. The tachometer may be updated in the same manner according to a desired angular velocity in cases where the drive shifts into gear following coasting in neutral.

  • Publication number: 20180137040
Abstract: Systems and methods for facilitating field testing of a test application are provided. In certain implementations, one or more metrics related to execution, at a user device, of one or more operations of the test application may be obtained. A determination of whether an error occurred with an operation of the one or more operations may be effectuated based on the one or more metrics. Error information relating to the error may be caused to be transmitted to one or more other user devices, wherein the error information includes information for replicating the error. Replication information relating to an attempt by the first other user device to replicate the error may be received back from at least a first other user device of the one or more other user devices. A determination of whether the first other user device replicated the error may be effectuated based on the replication information.

  • Patent number: 9959493
Abstract: Methods for authenticating printer supply items using revocation lists are disclosed. Revocation lists are updated using DNSSEC to communicate between a printer and a DNS name server. A first domain name is created containing a request for a challenge to an authentication module and sent to the DNS name server. A second domain name is created containing a response to the challenge and sent to the DNS name server. The DNS name server indicates success or failure, which is used to authenticate the printer supply item. Other systems and methods are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9757744
Abstract: A material spreader assembly for the broadcast spreading of particulate material from the trailer hitch of a vehicle. A hopper for storing the particulate material is supported by a frame having a trailer hitch coupler for connection to the vehicle. A spreader including a spinner driven by an electric motor receives and disperses the particulate material. A control circuit receives electric current from the vehicle via a plug interface and a wiring harness and controls the operation of the spreader. A remote communicates user commands to the control circuit. The control circuit includes a motor control processor that controls a motor power relay and a motor driver to gradually ramp up the current supplied to the spreader for start up the spreader while preventing a high transient current draw spike. Component feedback sensors enable the motor control processor to provide an emergency shut off feature and warning signals.
