  • Publication number: 20140254572
Abstract: A method and apparatus for managing radio resources in one or more wireless communication networks. At least one radio resource manager (RRM) is provided within a network node, or as an independent entity. The RRM monitors performance on wireless communication links of the network(s) and interacts with nodes associated with those links to change the configuration on a particular wireless communication link if its performance (i.e., quality) falls below an established threshold. Information regarding current resource usage of the network is sent to the RRM by the nodes. Each of the nodes may send a quality report to the RRM including wireless communication link quality measurements and performance statistics. Alternatively, the RRM may perform the wireless communication link quality measurements. The RRM facilitates the broadcasting of information regarding current resource usage of one network to other networks to avoid collisions and interference.

  • Publication number: 20140248248
Abstract: Human progenitor T cells that are able to successfully engraft a murine thymus and differentiate into mature human T and NK cells are described. The human progenitor T cells have the phenotype CD34+CD7+CD1a?CD5? or CD34+CD7+CD1a?CD5+ and are derived from human hematopoietic stem cells, embryonic stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cells by coculture with cells expressing a Notch receptor ligand (OP9-DL1 or OP9-DL4). Such cells are useful in a variety of applications including immune reconstitution, the treatment of immunodeficiencies and as carriers for genes used in gene therapy.

  • Patent number: 8804591
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for a proxy mobile Internet protocol (PMIP) supporting a dedicated multicast local mobility anchor (LMA) and mobile access gateway (MAG) is provided. The LMA assigns an Internet Protocol (IP) address to a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) that processes the IP address and sends a router solicitation message to a serving MAG. A WTRU is disclosed to receive a first IP address that is for unicast service and a second IP address that is for multicast services. Generally, the method and apparatus proposes architecture, interfaces, and procedures to enable multicast mobility using Proxy Mobile IP. More specifically operations of aggregated PMIP tunnels for multicast services are described. Multicast mobility is enabled when mobile nodes move from one MAG to another MAG, intra-LMA, and inter-LMA. And, Multicast mobility is enabled between bidirectional network and downlink only multicast network in a hybrid network.

  • Publication number: 20140169306
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for confirming the delivery of a data packet in a mesh network by sending an acknowledgement (ACK) to an ingress mesh point (IMP). A mesh network comprises a plurality of mesh points that are wirelessly linked together. A data packet sent by a station (STA) is received by an IMP. A MAC frame is generated for transmission of the data packet and the frame is forwarded to an egress mesh point (EMP) in order to provide a service by the mesh network. The MAC frame includes a field comprising an IMP address and an EMP address. When the EMP, (or optionally an intermediate mesh point), receives a data packet successfully, the EMP or the intermediate mesh point sends an ACK to the IMP or preceding mesh point.

  • Publication number: 20140153489
Abstract: User equipment (UE) may include dual mode devices that enable two different radio access technologies (RATs) for connection to wireless communication networks. Recently, these RATs have been used for message splitting in which a message is split into two packet flows, for example, that may enable increased throughput to the (UE). Dynamic mobility management may be provided for the UE by allowing a converged gateway (CGW) to discover the UE. For example, the CGW may identify the UE in communication a first CGW that may be within a first subnet. The CGW may store the identity of the WTRU in the memory. The CGW may transmit the identity of the UE to a second CGW that may be in communication with a second subnet.
